Greetings all! Tickets are moving well, especially the VIP tickets for our next RINGSIDE with Jim Ross Show heading, for the first time to Baltimore, and the Rams Head Live venue on Saturday night May 16. Tickets are on sale at ramsheadlive.com. Baltimore has long been a great, wresting city and continues to be. Our VIP Meet and Greet will be from 6-8 pm and the show is from 8-10 pm. Jake Roberts will be appearing at the Baltimore Comedy Factory next Wednesday night and Ric Flair will make a special appearance on a huge live event for Maryland Championship Wrestling on Friday night April 24 near Baltimore in Glen Burnie, Md. Hit MarylandWrestling.com for more info and catch the Nature Boy plus some big time, independent wrestling.
We're getting some interesting and overall great feedback on this week's Ross Report Podcast with wrestlingobserver.com's Dave Meltzer regarding our review of WrestleMania, the WWE going forward with a new set of champions, Global Force wrestling, TNA Impact Wresting and so much more. Its a super sized show that is available here on the home page of our site, at iTunes and via podcastone.com for FREE. Subscribe at iTunes and never miss a show.
This Tuesday night a new Ross Report will drop at 9 pm ET with our long awaited special guest Super Star Billy Graham who will have plenty to say about one of the most colorful careers in the business.
I find it weak that some pundits think that Samoa Joe gave a "political answer" when someone at my show in San Jose asked him if he would have any issue with starting a potential WWE career in NXT and Joe said he'd do whatever was asked of him. Is that being political or simply being a smart, team player? The best headline for some wresting sites may be to go with the "political" answer instead of giving the athlete the credit for being a guy who wants a shot and will work hard in any environment to earn that opportunity. NXT is WWE's hottest brand at the moment in the eyes of many and it's not like it's 'A' Ball.
Joe also said he'd love to work with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania next year. News flash....what wrestler worth their salt wouldn't want that main event opportunity?
Lots of @UFC action this weekend on Fox Sports 1 that starts early Saturday morning.
My pal Mauro Ranallo and his sidekick Stephen Quadros ae in Dubai for the big, Glory kickboxing event that will air Friday night on @Spike TV. I'm becoming a big kickboxing fan. Looks like it would be fun to broadcast.
The Cauliflower Alley Club annual gathering topped by the 50th Anniversary Banquet Wednesday night April 15 at the Gold Coast Hotel. I've never understood why more wrestling fans don't support the CAC more as the CAC helps SO many families in need that are from our extended, pro wrestling family. Check them out at caulifloweralleyclub.org. Lots of cool photos at the Rockbar Theater's Facebook page of our show and all that it entailed.
Good to see the renewal of NJPW on @AXSTV Friday nights with @MauroRanallo and @JoshLBarnett doing the commentary. If they ever need a 'guest' I'd love to sit in with them not that I'm enamored with three man booths. :) For any wrestling or mma fan AXS TV is a great network and Mauro and Josh are two of my favoite broadcasters.
Got another interesting opportunity presented to me today to do some more TV wrestling but it's too early to get into the specifics but it sounded, on the surface, like a fun gig.
A case of JR's BBQ Sauce says that WWE will make significant format changes and put more checks and balances in place to ensure that the 2016 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony doesn't top four hours in Dallas. For those going to WM32, I'd advise everyone to try and base out of Dallas as the Stadium is Arlington which is between Dallas and Ft Worth. The HOF and RAW after WM32 will both be held at the American Airlines Center while the Axxess activities will be at the Dallas Convention Center. Sounds like Dallas will the place to your hat. We plan on having the RINGSIDE with Jim Ross Show on Saturday afternoon prior to the HOF Induction Ceremony in Dallas at this time.
Seth Rollins is an old school booker's dream...an averaged sized, heel champion who could 'easily' lose on any given night. But...when was the last time that WWE changed a title at a live event? Nonetheless the theory is still in tact. Smart booking. On this week's Ross Report Podcast I have Rollins retaining the WWE Title until WM32 where he finally meets BROCK LESNAR!!! Uh, oh....more fantasy booking on this week's podcast including Lesnar winning the Royal Rumble.
What's the over/under on my friend Michael Cole working Monday on RAW with a cumbersome, neck collar? Perhaps with a IV hookup? Don't laugh...never say never, remember? Nonetheless WWE needs Cole back on the air.
Great 'gets' for ROH obtaining the services of Hiroshi Tanahashi and Okada from New Japan for their May shows in Philly and Toronto. I'd love to see the 27 year old Okada sign with WWE/NXT and have a 2-4 year run in WWE. He's already excellent but has an unlimited upside. I had a blast calling matches for the New Japan organization and actually sat next to the President of NJPW at the NXT show in San Jose.
Our R rated comedy film 'What Now?' is available now on iTunes and via VOD on all major cable systems. Heel JR rides again.
Grilling weather is here for many of us and you can stock up on JR's deliciousness at wweshop.com which is fully stocked and ready to ship your order today.
I will have a special surprise for anyone who attends my Baltimore show @RamsHeadLive wearing a JR's tee shirt from prowrestlingtees.com/jimross. You in??
Q&A's here are updated.
Thanks for the visit & come on back...
