JR's Blog: ROSS REPORT PODCAST: Jarrett, Vader, Alvarez/Karl Anderson, Dixie Carter..Matt Striker at Wrestle Kingdom 9, Wrestling Villains, Shop Online for JR's

Season's Greetings to one and all. Hope that you take advantage of the great deals on JR's products at http://www.wweshop.com/jimross http://www.americansoda.co.uk http://www.beyondtheropes.co.uk and http://www.prowrestlingtees.com/jimross that are available here at the holiday season. JR's make superb stocking stuffers for everyone on your list. Let's grill...

Thanks for all the feedback, both pro and con, on my latest Ross Report Podcast with my guest Jeff Jarrett that is up as we speak at podcastone.com, iTunes or simply by returning to the home page of the site and Listening to it there. Thought Jeff and I had an interesting conversation about his vision for Global Force Wrestling and certainly about the Wrestle Kingdom 9 PPV (in North America) on January 4, 2015. If you live outside North America you can watch the 4 hour Japanese equivalent to WrestleMania on the @FlippsTV app. I got a couple of Tweets from someone who wanted to hear more about Jeff's alleged issues in WWE and more "dirt" than about our Tokyo Dome event the first weekend of the New Year. I can't make everyone happy but I will still continued to try.

I've heard from many in the business that they enjoyed the Jeff Jarrett podcast. Jeff's concept of working with a variety of promoters is intriguing and I think if it strengthens the business in general that it helps all who are in the business. Check it out if you haven't.

Very pleased that Jeff hired Matt Striker to work with me on the NJPW Jan 4 extravaganza. Matt is highly intelligent and a true fan of the pro wrestling business and I'm confident that we will mesh well on the live broadcast and will do our best to provide the fans the information and emotion that is required to have a strong broadcast. Again, the event is about the wrestlers who make the music and Matt and I will provide the proper lyrics. I fully expect for you to hear a somewhat different type of TV presentation from us than perhaps you are accustomed to in North America...I did not say better but merely different. Our approach to this broadcast is not new but it will be to many younger fans but will well remembered by the long term fans. Matt was on a very short list of talented people GFW looked to sign for that gig.

I'm going to have TNA/Impact Wrestling head honcho Dixie Carter on my podcast that will drop on Tuesday January 6 at 9:30 pm ET on podcastone.com. Indeed, Dixie Carter will be my first podcast guest of 2015 and I can't wait. Dixie will have a great deal to discuss as her Impact Wrestling brand is moving networks in a few weeks and making some internal changes that the fans will see on their first broadcast on Destination America.

Congrats to Josh Mathews on replacing Mike Tenay on the broadcast team and who will join forces with Taz on the Impact TV show. Josh will bring a different approach and feel to the show but has big shoes to fill as it relates to Mike Tenay stepping away to fulfill another role or two in the company. Mike will also maintain his TV presence. Josh and Taz should be fun to listen to as they develop their chemistry. I wish both friends well.

Tickets are on sale now at www.axs.com for my shows Royal Rumble weekend in Sayreville, NJ on Friday January 23 at 8 pm at the Starland Ballroom and Sunday January 25 at 3 pm in Philly at the Trocadero Theater. Join us....www.axs.com.

Was asked today by Jason Powell for Pro Wrestling.net audio if I thought Roman Reigns was ready to be the man in WWE and become WWE World Champion. I don't think Reigns is ready today but it's not game day just yet but I do applaud WWE for attempting to add more 'new' into the upper card mix and taking a calculated risk on Reigns to be one of their centerpieces. Time will tell and I assure one and all that no one knows today. I'm optimistic.

Beginning to dislike the "Jardine's" aka spoilers that the IWC seemingly embraces even more than normal. Do they have to reveal info in their 'headlines?'

It seems like Alberto Del Rio is being coveted by many promotions but my guess is that he signs with Lucha Underground at some point. ROH likely can't afford him on an ongoing basis and I saw where Impact offered ADR 400K to sign which I have serious doubts about. I hope to have him on my Podcast soon. I will have one of the co-executive producers, Chris DeJoseph, on soon. Some know Chris better as the former WWE personality Big Dick Johnson.

What a day for birthday days as three of my hires in WWE celebrate birthdays today including Steve Austin, Trish Stratus, and RVD. What would any promotion give to have these three in their primes on their rosters today?

Another one of my favorite people, William Regal, who is a perfect authority figure on NXT.

If wrestling villains don't cheat to gain unfair advantages, why is it again that I am not supposed to like them? By the way, for all wrestling antagonists...retreating is a good thing for your job.

I've updated the Q&A's here on the site. Check them out and leave me a question if you would like.

My Twitter handle is @JRsBBQ. Any one else is an imposter....not that there's anything wrong with that.

Happy Holidays....
