Traditional Championship Wrestling announced last week that they had signed a 1 year television deal with Cox Sports Television to air a weekly 1 hour HD show starting on Friday, June 7th at 11pm Central. Cox Sports Television airs in approximately 2-million homes in 136 markets and covers an 8 state region. According to the Cox Sports Television website, the channel airs on Cox Communications in Oklahoma City and Tulsa on channel 269, and on Suddenlink in Cushing, Drumright, Enid, and Stillwater on channel 516. TCW also airs in Oklahoma on KSN Cable One channel 3 in Miami, on KXOC digital channel 41 in Oklahoma City, and on KSN Allegience Communications channel 2 in Wyandotte.

Jim Ross will be touring and doing one night talk shows on 8/24 in Cardiff, Wales, 8/25 in London and 8/26 in Manchester, talking about his wrestling career. He also pushes for Danny Hodge in the WWE Hall of Fame.

WWE honored Bret Hart after RAW went off the air last Monday with a presentation that ran around 30 minutes live on The Score in Canada and as well on the WWE app. Jerry Lawler hosted the event which also had appearances by Pat Patterson, Chris Jericho, Shawn Michaels, and Vince McMahon. All the WWE Superstars and Divas who were present for the tapings came out at the end of the show at the top of the ramp to salute the sometimes-emotional Hall of Famer. Bret Hart apologized on Twitter for a remark he made about Pat Patterson at "Bret Hart Appreciation Night" last Monday "I sincerely apologize to anyone that was in any way offended by my in-ring joke to Pat Patterson on Monday, especially to Pat ? .whom I hold in the highest regard. I was only trying to take some of the edge off an emotionally challenging moment and I failed. The comment does not in any way reflect my feelings toward the gay and lesbian community. B". The joke was that he was always nervous when Pat Patterson got down on his knees in front of him. Patterson thought it was funny.

The Calgary Herald had a long article on Bret Hart last week to coincide with his appreciation night on RAW as well with the Mayor's proclamation of "Bret Hart Day". "It's a big honor. I've always felt special in this town as I have felt about Calgary, too. I've always loved it here. I never left," Bret said in the interview. "People always think I left and I was living in the States for a long time, but home has always been Calgary." Jim Ross was also approached for the piece since he worked with Hart for quite a few years. He called Bret the most respected in the locker room by his peers and said that is the ultimate compliment to anyone in that profession. "In a world of oftentimes outlandish television personas and interactions, he brought clarity, common sense, reality and, perhaps more importantly, believability to the process." During a recent interview on 100.9 The Farm, Sting was asked about possible TNA Hall of Fame candidates. He said "Jeff Jarrett, I mean A.J. Styles is another one. They would probably the top two in my book. Honestly, I don?t know. Last year, I had no idea. As a matter of fact, I believed with everything in me that it wasn?t going to be me. It never even occurred to me that it could be me because I was still an active wrestler and still involved and I just never imagined. The guys that came before me right here at TNA, I thought deserved it more than I did, so for me to be put in there was kind of a weird deal. And I?m good with it now, believe me. It was a great night and I was honored and I still am. So I have no idea who it could be. I was so surprised last year, I have a feeling I will be surprised again this year."

Kurt Angle thanked the fans on Twitter for their support the day after he was announced as the second inductee in the TNA Hall of Fame. "Thanks to all of you for your support in my induction into TNA HOF," Angle wrote. "Couldn't do it without you. Much love." The former WWE and TNA champion also praised his match against A. J. Styles from "Slammiversary" pay-per-view, calling himself "blessed." His ex-wife Karen also had good things to say about him for being chosen to enter the Hall of Fame later
this year. "Congrats to @RealKurtAngle on his win over @AJStyesOrg & 4 being the next inductee into the TNA HOF! Very well deserved! #champion #machine," the now Mrs. Jeff Jarrett wrote. Jeff Jarrett also sent in his congratulations via Twitter, saying that in the ring "there's never been anybody better." Several other TNA Superstars joined in with their congratulatory remarks as well on the social network website.

On Twitter, Jeff Jarrett posted congratulations to Kurt Angle on being named the latest inductee into the TNA Hall of Fame "Congratulations to the 1 n only @RealKurtAngle 4 being inducted n 2 the #TNAHallofFame ! Inside the ring, there?s never been anybody better!"

Roddy Piper was on the TV show "Storage Wars" last Tuesday night. One of the main characters of the show, Barry Weiss, found a kilt in the storage unit he purchased. His lady friends took him to Tam O'Shanter Restaurant and Pub in Los Angeles, CA to cheer him up. When Piper came out playing the bagpipes, Weiss said "Holy Hulk Hogan, that's Rowdy Roddy Piper!". Piper then gave a history lesson of the kilt and estimated its value at $1000.

Joey Styles was Mick Foley's official announcer at Caroline's on Broadway in New York, NY on June 2nd. Foley raised $1100 for RAINN at the show. Among those in attendance was Dee Snider of Twisted Sister and Cary Silkin, former owner of Ring of Honor.

Bill Goldberg and Brian Knobbs were at the Jim Kelly Celebrity Classic charity golf tournament. Jerry Saggs was also listed as a guest but he wasn't there.

Missy Hyatt is writing a new book about her career, reports SLAM! Wrestling. According to SLAM, "Unlike her first book ?Missy Hyatt: First Lady of Pro Wrestling ?it is not a tell-all, but more of a behind-the-scenes stories. She is writing it herself, and relying on Dennis Brent, who published the World Class and WCW magazines for help with the editing."

Billy Reil posted on Facebook "Bobby Eaton update: Just contacted his sister and was told that he had a serious heart attack, but he is still breathing. Please say a prayer for one of the all time greats." However, Brian Thompson, one of Eaton's closest friends posted "There is a false rumor about Bobby spreading. He was doing much better two hours ago and also just called his nurse to verify he continues to improve." Later in the week, Eaton's sister posted "Update own my Brother , Bobby Eaton. Talked to the Nurse today. BOBBY is still improving . He knows wherd his at an what year it is . Still has away to go.His Heart rate is the same .so keep the prayers coming . Thankyou". It was later announced that Eaton would need to have a pacemaker put in sometime in the next two weeks.

An Australian band called the Psychotic Turnbuckles has an album called "Destroy Dull City" which has a song called "The Sudan Butcher," about Abdullah the Butcher. Something was lost in the translation somewhere because the back of the CD cover lists the song as "The Susan Butcher." "Destroy Dull City" was from a fake quote by Victor Rivera in a 1979 Apter magazine where had said two guys going out there just doing a wrestling match is "Dull city." They also do a remake of the 60s song, "The Crusher."

According to reports on Buck Zumhofe's arrest, there are indications that the charges filed are just the tip of the proverbial iceberg and that additional charges could be filed. Zumhofe was charged with 12 felony counts of gross sexual misconduct after his daughter Heather came forward and filed a report with police. Heather Zumhofe had formerly been a wrestler for her father's wrestling company Rock & Roll Wrestling, which toured the Midwestern states. A source with personal experiences with both Buck and Heather and worked for Buck's promotion told Gerweck.net, "I am so, so proud of Heather for finally standing up". When learning of Buck's arrest, the source reacted, "it is long overdue". The source added "Heather was with the company when I started, we were really good friends. We went to Cauliflower Alley in Vegas, and she met her hubby. She left the company, and it sucked, because we knew something was going on, but were kind of stuck there for a bit financially. It?s hard to work for a monster. I finally was able to leave last September. It took me a long time to go back to wrestling. It?s like it took part of my soul. The whole thing messed up Heather and my friendship too."

Oklafan congratulates The Mercenary on the birth of his nephew A. J., who was born last Thursday.

Oklafan congratulates Matt Doke of Rhodes Printing on the birth of his twin daughters on May 28th. Rhodes Printing in Coweta is responsible for screen printing several wrestling shirts over the years including shirts for NWA-U, SRPW, Max McGuirk, Ray Martinez, Ace Archuleta, Jack Legacy, and many more.

Clint Cassidy broke his wrist while training Friday. Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.

Oklafan extends its condolences to the family and friends of Buck Robley, who passed away on May 28th. Robley, whose real name was Phil Buckley, was a mainstay of Southern wrestling from the late 1960s to the early 1980s, mostly as a tag team competitor or manager. In Oklahoma, he was a regular tag team partner of Bill Watts and the pair held the TSW United States Tag Team Titles, MSWA Mid-South Tag Team Titles and the MSWA Louisiana Tag Team Titles. He also held the TSW US Tag belts with Bob Slaughter. Robley had 37 documented matches in Oklahoma; the earliest being in 1973 in Guymon for NWA Western States Sports, where he lost to Dory Funk, Jr. in a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match, and the last being September 17, 1982 where he lost to MSW North American Champion Ted DiBiase.

Ted DiBiase posted on Twitter "Just heard about Buck Robley?s death. He really helped my early career. Like all of us, Buck had his flaws, but he really knew his wrestling .. Rest in peace Buck Robley, and thanks for helping shape my career."
