5 WWE Superstars Who Would Benefit Most from Ric Flair as Their Manager

After ?Nature Boy? Ric Flair returned during the 2012 Slammy Awards, we can begin to speculate about his future in WWE. One scenario that WWE fans should be open to is seeing Flair as a manager.

Ric Flair is 63 years old, and WWE should not risk any Jerry Lawler-type incidents by having Flair wrestle. While he could become an authority figure on WWE TV, having him manage some young superstars would help benefit the future of WWE.

So which superstars would benefit most from having Ric Flair as their manager?

First, they need to be young and full of potential. Flair is not going to waste his time with jobbers who are not going anywhere?that is, unless he can bring them from jobber to top star. These superstars also need a gimmick or need to be given one that fits with Flair?s high-profiling ways.

With that said, here are five superstars (or tag teams/stables) who would improve their current situations in WWE with Ric Flair as their manager.

Prime Time Players

Millions of Dollars?

Not since Linda McMahon lost a lot more than that in her most recent unsuccessful senate campaign. However, Ric Flair used to spend a ton of money on women and limos, making this grouping a potentially good fit.

The Prime Time Players were on the verge of becoming WWE Tag Team Champions when they were being managed by A.W. However, after questionable actions by A.W., he was fired. This became the beginning of the end for Darren Young and Titus O?Neil?s tag title hopes.

The PTPs need a manager.

Titus O?Neil has been improving his mic skills and was especially entertaining on commentary recently. However, Darren Young is very weak on the mic, and these two had much more potential with a manager.

Ric Flair could lead the Prime Time Players back to being a serious threat to the WWE Tag Team Championships.

3MB

Although Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal have looked like two guys who don?t belong in 3MB, WWE seems to be pushing to give this trio regular time on WWE TV.

Perhaps with the addition of Ric Flair as their manager, WWE fans may take them more seriously.

Then again, maybe not.

Heath Slater had a great gimmick with his one-man band, but he is now being forced to share the gimmick with McIntyre and Mahal. Slater was originally booked as being a southern one-man band. Flair, being from the southern state of North Carolina, can boast his home as part of the gimmick.

No member of 3MB has held any championships since the trio came together, but perhaps the Nature Boy can lead them to success.

Jack Swagger

The All-American American has not been seen on WWE TV since September 3, when he told then Raw general manager that he was taking time off.

It is unclear when Swagger will return, however, perhaps having Ric Flair as his manager will push Swagger back to the main event level where he once was.

Swagger is a former World Heavyweight Champion whose stock went way down after losing the title after just three months. Swagger also served as a trainer to Michael Cole when he was preparing to face Jerry Lawler at WrestleMania 27. Swagger may be more successful if someone else is doing the talking and he is just doing the beating.

Ric Flair could help turn Swagger into what he should have become?the next Kurt Angle. Swagger has always used a similar skill set and even looks like Angle, but he has come nowhere near amounting to the same success.

With Flair doing the talking and Swagger showing more aggression, this pair could be very beneficial for Swagger.

Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel

Speaking of superstars who need someone to do the talking for them, let?s discuss the high-flying tag team of Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel.

Kidd and Gabriel are two fun superstars to watch, but they are just terrible to listen to on the mic.

That?s where Flair comes in.

Flair received a huge pop?deservingly so?at the Slammy Awards, making it seem most likely that he would be the manager of babyfaces. Flair would be able to shoot all the promos for Kidd and Gabriel, but leave all of the action and high-flying to the experts.

Flair wouldn?t have to wrestle at all, while Kidd and Gabriel wouldn?t have to talk at all.

It would be a great fit that would hopefully lead to Kidd and Gabriel?s first tag titles with each other.

Michael McGillicutty and Ted Dibiase

Two of the most misused superstars in WWE today, Michael McGillicutty and Ted DiBiase would definitely benefit by having Ric Flair as their manager.

Flair is very familiar with the earlier generations of Hennigs and DiBiases, creating a potentially interesting scenario.

Ric Flair was wrestling in WWF with Mr. Perfect and Curt Hennig (McGillicutty?s father) at the same time that the Million Dollar Man, Ted DiBiase Sr., was winning singles matches and tag team titles with I.R.S.

Flair could easily claim to be creating a new legacy with a new Hennig and DiBiase. If WWE is concerned about the mic work of McGillicutty and DiBiase, Flair would solve that problem, much like he would with Kidd and Gabriel.

There are a number of superstars who could join this new legacy such as Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton and even Alberto Del Rio. However, Flair should get the ball rolling with the two superstars who would benefit most from having him as their manager, Michael McGillicutty and Ted Dibiase Jr.

Conclusion

Ric Flair can talk with the best of them, making him a great addition to the WWE roster as a manager, and these superstars would not be the only ones to benefit greatly from having Flair as their manager.

WWE fans would benefit, too, as Flair would be featured more on WWE TV, which no one would have a problem with.

WWE management would benefit from Flair as he creates buzz among fans and could be a top draw, even as a manager.
