1-18 NWA-TNA iMPACT
The show opened with Sting severely beating Father James Mitchell outside of the prison where Abyss spent time.
More footage of Sting forcing Mitchell up against the prison fences and continuing the physical punishment was shown.
Sting demanded to know why Abyss had been hiding in the prison. Mitchell refused to tell and spat in Sting's face. Mitchell said that Abyss spent years in the prison and that's where Abyss was born. Mitchell said Abyss was othing but a monster that he uses. Sting said he sees a human being when he looks in Abyss' eyes, but sees nothing when he looks in Mitchell's. Sting then said that if Mitchell won't tell him why Abyss was there, he'd find out for himself. He then left Mitchell locked up in the prison and headed back to the Impact Zone.
Kurt Angle was in Jim Cornette's office. He said that he knew Cornette knew who the consultant that NWA World Champion Christian Cage mentioned is. Cornette said not to fall for Cage's mind games and reminded him that he's the world's greatest wrestler and he has a match against A. J. Styles later that night. He then tells Jeremy Borash that they'll do their interview outside and he & Borash leave the office area.
A. J. Styles was interviewed by Jeremy Borash after running off Eric Young. He said it's a perfect day since he gets to wrestle Kurt Angle. Then he asks what Angle was really done. He said Angle had been babied and had everything handed to him, while A. J. had scratched and clawed for everything he had. Borash reminded him that Angle won a gold medal at the Olympics. A. J. seemed unimipressed with that and said he once won a blue ribbon for the Tri-County Triple Jump. A. J. then said that it didn't matter if the fans love him or hate him because he's still phenomenal.
Sting was seen driving back up to the Impact Zone.
Kurt Angle def. A. J. Styles. After the match, Christian Cage & Tomko join A. J. in a 3-on-1 attack on Angle, but Rhino runs down and he & A. J. battle back up the ramp.
Sting was in the ring demanding Abyss come down and meet him. After Abyss gets to the ring, Sting says it's time to start talking and tell everyone why he was in the prison. Abyss took the microphone, but refused to talk. Sting then got physical with Abyss, poking him with his baseball bat to try and coerce him to talk, but Abyss just cowered in the corner. Sting said it's a matter of public record and he'd just go find out for himself. Abyss looked scared and after Sting left the ring, Abyss knelt in the centre of it, screaming what sounded like "No!" as the show closed.
