The UWE show in Poteau was promoted by Dwayne Huckaba and he booked several well known names including Tammy Sytch and Jim Neidhart who did a pre-show meet and greet. Several others stars that were advertised for the show didn?t go as they hadn?t received their retainer. Huckaba claimed to at least one person that he sent a check, and that the check he sent had been cashed, but didn?t provide any proof. The show was pretty much a disaster drawing less than 100 paid. Huckaba skipped town soon after belltime when he realized ticket sales wasn?t going to cover his payroll. He hasn?t since returned anyone?s calls or messages, reports the Wrestling Globe Newsletter.

During the main event of Mid-States Wrestling's show on October 22nd, Heavyweight Champion Michael Barry locked the Sharpshooter on Jim Fallon and then told referee Dave Hebner "Ring the bell!" trying to reenact the infamous Montreal Screwjob. Dave then looked at the crowd then back at Barry and yelled back "Wrong Hebner!"

Also at the October 22nd Mid-States Wrestling show, Independent Wrestling International Champion Dustin Heritage announced to the crowd that he was renamed the title the Heritage Title. No word on whether or not MSW will officially recognize this name change or not.

The National Wrestling Alliance has begun announcing their entrants into the 2011 class of the Hall of Fame. The first five entrants announced were Pat O'Connor, Dusty Rhodes, Angelo Savoldi, Rikidozan, and Sue Green. They are expected to announce ten entrants this year, up from their usual seven.

The October 12th Raw show from Oklahoma City did 444,000 Canadian viewers, way up from usual levels. The previous week, the show had done 367,000.

Internet rumors last week suggested that WWE Hall of Famer Gerald Brisco had passed away. It has been noted that Dallas Page even commented on the false rumor via Twitter. Page followed up by posting the follwing on Twitter: "just found out Gerry is Alive and well! Thank God! Damn some times I hate the twitter thing". Brisco then posted on his Facebook: "I?m well enough to kick DDP butt for putting this out there and upsetting my family".

Jim Ross says he?s planning to do a hog hunt with Shawn Michaels in December which will be taped for the Outdoor Channel.

Earlier last week, Jim Ross posted on Twitter: "For those that asked I?ll be at OU-KSU game Saturday & ATLANTA for Monday Night Raw! Living a blessed life. Enjoying every day. "

Jim Ross posted the following on Twitter during the live RAW telecast: "4 the record, I?m in Atlanta. Was informed by Raw GM?s office, my services weren?t needed. Cole wants 2 make fun of my 3 surgeries. Classy."

According to reports, the Michael Cole challenge was removed from the Raw script on a rewrite, and was pushed forward to next week?s Raw. Apparently, they kept plugging it during the show thinking it would boost the rating. As previously noted, Jim Ross was in the building.

On November 4th, WWE will celebrate the WrestleMania XXVIII on sale party at the Bayfront Park in Miami, FL with seven WWE personalities appearing at the event. The party kicks off at 7pm Eastern and scheduled to appear for autographs are Rey Mysterio, Kelly Kelly, The Bella Twins (Nikki Bella & Brie Bella), Rosa, Sgt. Slaughter, and Jimmy Hart. Mysterio will only sign for the first 200 fans and you can start lining up at 4pm where a WWE rep will give out wrist bands to the first lucky 200 in line. During the three hour party there will also be live entertainment from the All Star Band and a firework show. Tickets officially go on sale to the general public the next day on Saturday, November 5th.

The first DLC wrestlers for WWE ?12 have been announced by THQ and it features seven WWE personalities and a couple of ring attires. Included among those announced are announcers Michael Cole, Jim Ross and Jerry ?The King? Lawler along with Shawn Michaels, Road Warrior Hawk, Road Warrior Animal and Brodus Clay. Alternative ring attire for Edge and Christian are also available for download. Playable characters of Macho Man Randy Savage and Mick Foley will be part of future packs. Mick Foley posted on Twitter: "According to @WWE magazine, it looks I WILL be part of the WM 12 game, making October 26, 2011 a happy, happy day!"

Mick Foley is doing a holiday comedy show on Long Island on December 15th at McGuire's Comedy Club in Bohemia, NY and 100% of all ticket sales will be donated to Holiday Magic, a group of volunteers who will be handing out toys to children at Long Island homeless shelters on Christmas morning. Tickets, which are $25 may be tax deductible and all tickets include a free meet and greet where you get one free signed 8x10, a free autograph of something else and a free photo-op. Mick Foley is also going to appear on November 20th at 12 midnight after the Survivor Series with a comedy show for just $5 at the UCB Theatre in Manhattan which is six blocks from Madison Square Garden. That would seem to indicate a good shot Foley will be appearing in some form at Survivor Series, or at least will be at the show.

Roddy Piper made his first public appearance since neck surgery last weekend in Boston. He was also in Stamford last Wednesday at WWE Studios filming a legends roundtable for Classics with Jim Ross, Gene Okerlund, Michaels Hayes, and Dallas Page. They filmed two shows; one looking at renegades in wrestling and another looking at celebrities.

The DUI hearing in Tampa, FL for Jimmy Uso, son of Rikishi, was continued November 30th.

Wes Brisco, son of Jerry Brisco, is one of the entrants in NWA Ring Warrior's Grand Championship Tournament in Fort Lauderdale, FL on December 14th. Wes is a former WWE Developmental wrestler who was released from his deal in June 2011.

The ESPN 30 for 30 series had a show entitled "The Real Rocky" which was about Chuck Wepner, a former boxing heavyweight who fought Muhammad Ali and was the inspiration for the movie "Rocky". Wepner worked two pro wrestling matches, one with Andre the Giant in 1976 at Shea Stadium (on the Bruno Sammartino vs. Stan Hansen card) and another with Antonio Inoki. The show aired clips of the Andre match (it was a pro wrestling match, not a shoot of any kind.) Vince McMahon was interviewed briefly for the piece.

Big Nasty of BleacherReport.com wrote a story with a slideshow entitled "Pro Wrestling Managers: The 50 Most Insane Manager Moments in Wrestling History" and coming in at #1 was Edge and Lita participate in a live sex show. Among the other entries that were included are:

Paul Bissonnette of the NHL's Phoenix Coyotes dressed up as Hacksaw Jim Duggan for Halloween. Bissonette does not have Duggan's 300 pound frame, but he did wear trunks and carried a 2x4 with his thumb up.

On this past Sunday night's Halloween episode of "The Simpsons," one of the alien characters was named Kamala.

Jay Hollywood has been sidelined with a severe back injury. It?s unknown how long he will be out of action. Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.

The Wrestling Observer reported that Barry Windham has been hospitalized in Florida with what most sources believe to have been a heart attack or a stroke. The only new information is that he?s in really bad shape in intensive care in Florida following an apparent heart attack or possible stroke. It was reported that Windham was found collapsed at his ranch by brother-in-law Mike Rotunda. He wasn?t coherent and had suffered injuries from a fall. Blackjack Mulligan, Barry?s father, described his son?s condition as ?near death.? Mulligan later said there was great improvement in Windham, but that he had a long road ahead of him. He now has some feeling in his fingers and toes. Doctors still aren't sure whether it was a massive heart attack or a stroke or both that took him down. Later reports said Windham has been moved to a facility in Orlando for an MRI on his neck. Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.

Mike Mooneyham posted the following on Facebook: "Latest Barry Windham update: Jack Mulligan told me early Sunday that it was a massive heart attack that Barry suffered. He has been moved to another facility, is in stable condition, and is facing long-term rehab."

Jim Ross posted a Windham update on Twitter: "Talked to Mike Rotundo 2day here in ATL & he said Barry Windham was improving from heart attack & liver issues. Still hospitalized.."

Karl Kox suffered a massive heart attack over the weekend of October 22nd and 23rd. Reports state he is in critical condition and lucky to be alive according to doctors. Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.
