News:

Mick Foley was spotted backstage at a recent Ring of Honor event. According to reports, Foley appeared in better shape, and is said to be preparing for Wrestlemania 23.

During the 49ers-Rams game last Sunday, Jesse Palmer (who appeared on The Bachelor) said during a mix-up when a 49er defensive back grabbed a Rams' player in the legs said, "That looks like a figure four leglock. Greg ?The Hammer? Valentine would be proud."

Bryan Alvarez reported Tuesday that the storyline involving Team RKO beating up Ric Flair Monday night on ?Raw? was to explain his departure from WWE television for a short time so that Flair can attend to preparations for his divorce proceedings from his second wife, Beth. But apparently WWE won?t be taking Ric Flair off television after all. Flair recently married for a third time. Lets just hope Beth Flair doesn?t end up with the Ric Flair name as Ricky Steamboat?s wife claimed the wrestler?s name during their divorce. Ric Flair's divorce procedings from Beth Flair begin Tuesday in Charlotte, NC. They are expected to be nasty, both from a publicity and financial aspect. So far, Ric Flair has paid his soon-to-be ex-wife Beth $450 000 (and $20 000 per month in alimony)

Kevin Nash has hinted to friends that he is eyeing Jim Cornette's role as a figurehead commissioner, as the general feeling is that Cornette won't be around long if Vince Russo stays.

Scotty Charisma was the ?OPS? delivery man on RAW last Monday.

Jim Ross stated on his web site that if the Oklahoma Sooners play a bowl game on 1/1, that he'll miss that edition of Raw - which is headlined by John Cena vs. K-Fed.

The top 10 greatest moments on the NWA-TNA "50 Greatest Moments" DVD are as follows:

10. Chris Candido leads The Naturals to the NWA World Tag Team titles
9. Christian Cage becomes NWA World Champion
8. Barbed Wire Massacre
7. A. J. Styles ends Jeff Jarrett's NWA World title reign at Hard Justice ?05
6. America?s Most Wanted vs. Triple X in the Six Sides of Steel
5. Christian Cage debuts
4. The Samoa Joe/A. J. Styles/Christopher Daniels Unbreakable ?05 three way
3. Jeff Jarrett attacks Hulk Hogan in Japan
2. Sting returns to wrestling at Final Resolution ?06
1. NWA-TNA iMPACT! debuts on Spike TV.

Highspots.com is selling a compilation DVD that features all of A. J. Styles & Christopher Daniels? NWA World Tag Team title defenses on the UWF/NWA-TNA live events.

The Sting/Abyss finish at the Genesis PPV was a bit botched. Sting was supposed to get DQ'd for putting Rudy Charles through the barbed wire. However Rudy messed up and called for the bell when Sting shoved him down.

Mitch Carter had surgery Monday which was successful, but had to be rushed back to the hospital after he was released due to a minor complication. He has a permanent metal plate installed into his collar bone and will be able to return to the ring no earlier than April 2007, assuming he returns at all.

The NWA-TNA show in Monterrey, Mexico drew 4,200 people. Ringside seats for the show were $100 which is less than the $160 that the WWE charges but more than the $36 that CMLL charges. The most over TNA wrestlers on the show were said to have been Ron Killings and and Jeff Jarrett.

Ron "The Truth" Killings continues to be frustrated with his direction in TNA, and as previously noted, has requested his release. Terry Taylor has told Killings he will not be released.

If you would like to send cards or get well wishes to Roddy Piper here is his contact information courtesy of Mike Johnson:

Roddy Piper's WWE RAW World Tag Team title reign with Ric Flair was originally supposed to run past Christmas.

The feeling backstage is that Jim Ross was only re-signed with WWE because there was some fear that he might jump to TNA. Ross signed a one year contract which includes two year company option. Jim Ross' current WWE duties are announcing, doing the talent payroll, and giving written feedback for each TV show.

Dave Meltzer reports that settlement talks are starting soon in Warrior's (formerly Jim Hellwig) lawsuit against WWE regarding "The Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior" DVD.
