Mouth of Madness

Mouth of Madness

Posted: Feb 21st 2011 By: CMBurnham

I don't expect many of you to read this and fewer to care what I have to say...you'll just pass me by because who am I right?

What have I done? I am "The Butcher "Tyler Bateman and I've been busting my ass at the mat game for 9 years and I've managed to do it with surprisingly few flips. I'm from the south, ya know, born and raised in Oklahoma. When I broke in I was taught not to rock the boat - keep your head down, mouth shut, and wrestle; that you fight with every thing you have every time you're out there. Do your best every time you're out there under those lights every time you're in that ring because your body only has so many bumps in it; you only have so many minutes in the ring, and each one is precious and I am tired of using my bumps and burning my time for nothing.

I put in my work. I don't play politics I go out and work hard and earn my keep. I'm tired of being passed over for spots so that promoters push boys can get the rub because they need the spot more than I do because I'm not "flashy," because I don't do flips and fly...because I don't fucking need to. I fight like a God damned man. Toe to toe, hold for hold, bell to bell, like a man. I'm not a fucking gymnast. I get why people like it. I'm not even above taking to the air if need be but it's not necessary to win a fight.

Even in Magnum Pro, the place I call home, the place where the style I'm criticized for using is nurtured and put on display for the world to see as the beautiful simple but brutally effective style that it is, has passed me over. I drove from Santa Paula, CA to Council Bluffs, IA to fight for Magnum Pro. When they came to California I figured that I would be given first crack as I was the one of three fights in the state that had fought in a Magnum Pro ring (The others being Devin "P.S" Sparks and "Dangerous J" Jaysin Strife). Yet I was passed over in favor of "The King of Strikes" Brandon Parker. I was given the second shot, YAY! Second place again! I fought Brandon Parker in Magnum Pro's second So Cal showcase in Apple Valley. I fought Parker and I won. It was not an easy fight. We beat each other soundly, he kicked me square in the mouth, BUT in the end I connected with a back fist and won. Yet bitter in defeat Brandon claimed that I hit him with a chain - that didn't cost me my victory but it cost me a showcase fight in August of 2010 the only month since Magnum moved to So Cal that there was no showcase. I was passed over because the popular guy said I hit him with a chain. Go back and watch the tape after the fight he sure as fuck didn't look like he got hit with a chain. Still, I got passed over again.

Well no more.

It's coming down. You might not be able to feel it yet, but trust me it's coming down.

I will not be passed over any longer. I will not be pushed to the side. If you will not take notice and give me respect then I will take your notice and respect. I will give no quarter and I will ask for none in return. I won't back down nor will I quit! I'll fight until I die! It's coming down, man. In the end only those who stand with Raze and myself will be left. I'll take control of Magnum Pro and do it with an iron fist and Southern hostility.
