NEWS
NWA Southwest commissioner Ken Taylor announced that Charlie Haas has been stripped of the NWA Texas Heavyweight Title due to failure to defend the title in the past 30 days. The vacant title will be up for grabs at the NWA Southwest event in Robstown, TX on January 7th in a match between former TNA and WWE star Lance Hoyt (AKA Vance Archer) and former WWE developmental wrestler Sicodelico, Jr.

Bryan Alvarez of F4Wonline.com is reporting that as of this week that a Fatal 4 Way is planned for the WWE Title match at Royal Rumble with The Miz defending his title vs. Jerry Lawler, Randy Orton, and John Morrison. Morrison vs. Miz in a singles match was originally scheduled for Rumble but those plans were changed and that match took place last night. There has also been talk of possibly giving Jerry Lawler a short run with the WWE Title but nothing is set in stone at this point.

Jim Ross posted about Jerry Lawler's travels on Twitter last Tuesday: "King had 2 fly into Rochester 2day & drive 2 Albany in big time snow. Flt 2 Albany cancelled."

Jim Ross posted on Twitter last week: "Updated the Q&A section of http://www.jrsbarbq.com. Lesnar to WWE rumor unfounded. However if it happens for WM27 it would be huge 4 WWE."

John Cena's injury was reported Wednesday by Jim Ross to have been a hip pointer. He's on a day-to-day deal as far as coming back, but it is not as serious as feared Tuesday night.

Beth Phoenix discusses her ACL injury in a video you can watch by clicking here.

The return of "Tough Enough" will mark the first time the show will be on the air since WWE canned the original format in 2003. A year later the show was renamed to "$1,000,000 Tough Enough" and aired as part of the Smackdown broadcast. The show originally aired on MTV for three seasons. Maven Huffman and Nidia Guenard won the first season, Linda Miles and Jackie Gayda won the second, John Hennigan and Matt Cappotelli got the third one and Daniel Puder won the fourth. Only John Hennigan ? who now wrestles as John Morrison ? remains with the company and the runner up of season four, The Miz, is now the WWE champion. A total of eight trainers appeared during the four seasons, with only one still employed by WWE. These are Al Snow, Jacqueline, Tori, Tazz, Hardcore Holly, Chavo Guerrero, Ivory, and Bill DeMott. Several contestants ended up on WWE television in later years including Matt Morgan, Nick Mitchell of the Spirit Squad, Ryan Reeves resurfaced as Skip Sheffield of Nexus, Chris Nowinski, and commentator Josh Mathews among others.

WWEUniverse.com, WWE's version of Facebook and MySpace, was officially shut down on January 1, 2011, according to a letter posted by WWE Online Community Leader Corey Clayton. "We've had a great run WWE Universe...but all good things must come to an end," Clayton wrote. Content such as blogs from The Fink and Jim Ross as well as live chats and other services will be moving to different places on WWE.COM or integrated with the company's Facebook and Twitter, which are far more popular than WWE's in-house double. "In parting, I just want to say thank you to all the dedicated long-time members of this site that participated, contributed photos, blog posts, and comments in the Forums. WWE appreciates your support over the past two years, and I hope you enjoyed your time on the site," the letter stated.

Dutch Mantell commented via Twitter: ?Congrats to Awesome Kong for her WWE signing. She was always one of my favorites..glad to see her in a position to make some real money. ?

Time Warner onDemand has Kurt Angle vs. A. J. Styles from last year's "Genesis" show in their Events Free Preview section.

Mick Foley posted on Twitter: "WWE announcer Scott Stanford and I were part of the same college radio station in the 80″s. It?s true, it?s damn true."

Dwayne Johnson's appearance on "Lopez Tonight" was replayed Wednesday night with him telling the Billy Robinson/Peter Maivia story he grew up with.

TMZ.com reported the following last week:
It?s been one year since former WWE star Umaga shockingly passed away at the age of 36 ? and to honor his memory ? several of the wrestler?s former ring-mates and family members got together to celebrate his life earlier this month. Among the star-studded crew who gathered in Texas ? wrestlers MVP, Shad, Carlito, Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas. We?re told the gang shared their favorite stories about their friend ? and even honored Umaga?s eating habits with a buffet of his favorite foods.

Rikishi reacted to the TMZ article via Twitter: ?ekis (Umaga) memorial was both personal private and not for public display so its really pisses me off to see a trust betrayed. Let my brother R I P @TMZ and who ever sent them those pics .. No class Muthaf***kers?. He followed that up with a second Twitter post: "?Its the scumbag that send them TMZ the story n pictures of a so called ?PRIVACY? family and friends gathering. Stop tryin to make $ off of? Shelton Benjamin also lashed out via Twitter: ?you know its a real damn shame when you allow someone into your home as a friend and they turn out to be a snake in the grass. ekkies memorial was both personal private and not for public display so its really pisses me off to see a trust betrayed. but i will root out this piece of sh*t who did this.?

Dave "The Hammer" Schultz, once the baddest man on the Philadelphia Flyers and in the NHL (and still the current NHL record holder for penalty minutes in a season), just did a new interview where he talks about his time refereeing a match in WCW that featured the Nasty Boys vs. Cactus Jack & Kevin Sullivan at "Slamboree 1994".
