JR's Blog: Jericho WWE MVP?..WM28 Headliners?..'The Sampler' is Working..Sleeper Bout @ Night of Champions..Styles vs. Cole

Posted: Sep 15th 2010 By: CMBurnham

Good day to buy the best BBQ Sauce and Chipotle Ketchup around not to mention some 97% Fat Free, custom made, JR's Beef Jerky. I'm just saying...

Random thoughts from under my black hat...

Chris Jericho had a helluva night on Raw and is one of the WWE's true MVP's. His promo and interaction with the 'GM' was money. Jericho takes a back seat to no one in WWE as it relates to all around skills. We often forget he's a 20 year vet. Not many of them around that are still as productive as the Fozzy front man.

Miz out talked Chad Ochocinco Monday night which is no small feat. Miz' verbal skills are natural and will only get better. Plus, his in ring work has improved at an amazing rate.

Miz vs. Daniel Bryan for the United States Title Sunday in Chicago on PPV might steal the show. I hope that they have time to tell a compelling story. Think of how significant an opportunity this is for Bryan....a one on one bout for a title at a major PPV.

I'm looking forward to the US Title bout as much as any match at Night of Champions.

Tyson Kidd showed some flashes of specialness Monday night on Raw. Remember the match several months ago with Kidd vs. Rey Mysterio? With the right opponent and a personal issue in tact, Tyson Kidd can be a 'player' unless I'm dead wrong.

Emailer...No, I don't ever see Bret Hart in a meaningful, 1 on 1 wrestling match again. I'd love to be wrong on this one but at this stage of Hitman's life why should Bret risk it?

Did we peek into WWE's future just a bit when John Morrison competed with Sheamus Monday night? Morrison is so damn athletic and when he adds more visible toughness to his presentation he will be one step closer to where he wants to be.

Sheamus is already physical and tougher than a $2 steak but the WWE Champion's best days are a head of him.

WWE is building a viable, young talent roster and some might even say that WWE is in somewhat of a transition period. The best days for most of their young guys lies ahead and the next 18-24 months should be most interesting. I'm already thinking who might headline the top bouts at WM28.

Emailer...Getting our products into major grocery chains is a daunting task. It's expensive, with slotting fees to get into their warehouses running into the thousands of dollars, and it's political. Many of the big boys don't want to give up any shelf space and because they provide grocers so many products, smaller outfits like ours who sell premium, specialty products are often times left on the outside looking in. We need a break in this arena and will keep working at it. That's why your on line orders are so imperative right now. Just being honest.

Check out www.bostonwrestling.com for info on their Big Bang Birthday Bash that John Cena, Sr is involved with this Saturday in Melrose, Mass at Memorial Hall. It's a huge indy show featuring several top hands PLUS they will be selling autographed bottles of our products. Support these folks and leave with a genuine, autographed bottle of some of the best tasting stuff on Earth.

Wednesday night on www.wwe.com be sure and check out Joey Styles live on line chat where he re-watches NXT and makes comments. It's entertaining as hell and the voice of ECW holds little back. After what Michael Cole had to say about Joe Tuesday night on NXT, I fully expect Styles to give Cole hell and go extreme on the, apparent, former NXT broadcaster and current voice of Monday Night Raw.

Our new 'The Sampler' features one bottle of each of our two BBQ Sauces, a bottle of our Chipotle Ketchup, a bag of Beef Jerky, an autographed kids menu from our BBQ joint, and an autographed, Topps trading card PLUS FREE SHIPPING in the USA.....all for only $28.88.

Emailer...I have no idea of what is actually going on regarding Matt Hardy and his relationship with WWE. What I read on line does concern me and, obviously, I hope the best for all involved at the end of the day. Interesting days could lie a head.

Emailer...Yes I actually personalize our JR's Cookbooks and inscribe whatever the customer wants. We sell a ton of these cookbooks which feature several wrestling stories, wrestling top ten lists, and photos for only $19.88 and that includes the personalized autograph and FREE SHIPPING in the USA. It's a unique, affordable gift idea for under twenty bucks.

WWE is getting very aggressive with the promotion for their Super Show in OKC on Friday night October 1 at the Ford Center. This will not only be the last WWE event in Oklahoma this year but it will also be the the biggest WWE event ever in the state. Tickets are still available starting at only $15.

Wednesday at 4:50 pm central time catch me on the top radio show in the Houston market, the Sean and John Show, on www.1560thegame.com. You can listen live on line as we talk college football and always work in some wrestling.

Thanks for the feedback on our recent blog talking about Mike Shaw who died of a heart attack at the age of 53 on September 11. Mike was a really witty guy who was actually one of the funnier guys I've ever met in the business. I mentioned that he kept a journal of his years in Calgary and I only wish I that could remember the stories as they were absolutely hilarious and might even make a helluva screen play. Mike actually remembered entire conversations that transpired which made the stories that much funnier and more authentic. BTW I wonder what ever happened to Mike's football playing son?

Not sure what I saw when R Truth and Ted DiBiase had their sing off Monday night but I'd rather hear WWE HOF'er Pat Patterson sing 'My Way' than young, master DiBiase.

Yours truly is headed to Chicago EARLY Sunday morning, gotta hit that OU vs. Air Force game in Norman Saturday afternoon, and then will be heading to Tampa next week to visit FCW. Then it's on to Cincinnati for the Sooners game vs. the Cincy Bearcats at Paul Brown Stadium that Saturday. Whew.

Thanks for stopping by and and even bigger thanks to those that support our efforts with your business. It's greatly appreciated.

Boomer Sooner!
