Dusty's Blog: Overseas Rasslin

Headed out tomorrow for my third trip to Korea and my 32nd overseas trip in the last 27 years.(Not bad for someone the ?hotstuff? loudmouths want to rag on)

I keep getting asked if I?m excited. Not really. First of all, there is nothing exciting about a third world country that close to the Artic Circle in February. Freezing my ass off is never high on my list of exciting projects to look forward to. Second, if I?ve been there before, the expectations are lower. I have an idea of the good and the bad. And Korea is not a third world country by accident. Seoul itself is modern, the rest? Hello 1938. Third, anyone that knows Ethan?.a week without me around to crack the whip????????

Another friend asked if I was packing and getting ready on Sunday. For a flight Wednesday. I had to laugh. I?ll do good to be packed by midnight Tuesday.

Some things never change, even with the passing of time, and the upgrade in technology. I don?t have to worry about where I placed my tickets, but I still have to make sure I have my passport. And I know I?ll be getting Xrayed and cavity searched by our fine security, while Habib and his flowing robes walks right by. I still have to pack as if I don?t have a home for four days. Except now, I have to be aware of what I packed and where I packed it because of morons that try to set their sneakers and Froot of da Looms on fire. I still have to make sure bills are paid before I leave. And still have to make sure the bill collectors know when I get back. Can?t have the constant calls disturbing my hounds while no one is in the house. Gaspar and TallyHO are sensitive creatures. I still make some woman mad I?m leaving, and still have about a dozen more women hoping the plane I?m on lands on that island on that TV show that makes absolutely no sense. My sister will act like I never told her I was leaving, wish me a safe trip, and then act as if she?s shocked I ever left when I walk back in her house. Tina is living proof blond is a state of mind.

The new stuff that has been added?.
making sure i pick something up for Alan Wolfe. He will be of the age before long, no explanation will do if Paw Paw doesn?t return with a gift. Taking text books to keep up with classes. A week doesn?t sound like much, but those seven days can be an enternity if I don?t keep up. And I?m too close to the bachelor?s degree to screw up now.

SOOOOOOOOOO, this just begins to scratch the surface of getting ready for an overseas trip. I can?t imagine what all I did when I would leave for 3-4 weeks in years past. Or maybe I just ignored it all then. Because I was so excited about the new places and the new experiences.

Why oh why would I travel 24 hours each way to a third world country? Besides the fact a part of me still enjoys the rasslin bidness? I NEED THE REST!

PS. I?ll blog along the way. Sometimes, the airports are more fun than anywhere else.
