NEWS
The security for Mark Cuban on the December 7th "WWE Monday Night RAW" in Dallas were local wrestlers Ryan Davidson, Kristopher Haiden, Danny Matthews, and Mark Vaughn.

In his latest blog update, WWE commentator and Hall of Famer Jim Ross said that he is still working on finalizing a new contract with WWE as his current one expires this month. "Working on one's contract, as I have been focusing on for the past few days isn't one of my favorite things to do particularly at the 11th hour and especially due to issues regarding my health not to mention that it's the holiday season," Ross said. The former Smackdown commentator has been on the sidelines since mid October after he suffered his third Bell's palsy attack and will be out for the next few months as his face continues to heal. "I expect something to be worked out regarding this matter in the next week or so but I am not going to stress over it one way or another," he concluded.

Charlie Haas is said to be devastated by the death of Umaga. Together they owned a nutrition store in the Houston-area. There were rumors a few weeks ago that Haas asked for his release over a money issue but cooler heads prevailed. The story making the rounds was that Kurt Angle tried to recruit Haas to TNA.

MySanAntonio.com posted a story last week about Shawn Michaels. He promoted last Sunday's PPV, and also talked about growing up watching the Von Erichs and Southwest Championship Wrestling. You can read the story here.

Ted DiBiase, Jr. talks about "Marine 2" and that he wanted to follow his dad (Ted DiBiase, Sr.) in the ministry in another story posted by MySanAntonio.com. You read that story here.

With the criticism WWE has received recently for not pushing young and fresh stars, they seem to actually be doing a great job of pushing new talent. Take their "TLC" pay-per-view event for example, Drew McIntyre, Kofi Kingston, and Sheamus all received high profile matches on the PPV. Not to mention the fact that superstars like John Morrison, Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, Jack Swagger, The Miz, Dolph Ziggler, Shelton Benjamin, William Regal, Yoshi Tatsu, & Zack Ryder are all featured predominantly on WWE programming every week, and it?s just a matter of time before any of these guys become the next break out star. Also keep in mind the superstars that are on the borderline of mid card-main event star, such as CM Punk, Kane, & Matt Hardy, who WWE know they can use at anytime as their next World Champion. The fact of the matter is, WWE has no problem in establishing new stars, they did it thought the transition from Steve Austin and The Rock to John Cena and Randy Orton, and they will do it again when the time is necessary, always remember WWE has been in business for over 40 years, and they know what they are doing!

The first batch of DLC for Smackdown vs Raw 2010 will be released in January for X-Box 360 and Playstation 3. The pack will include Yoshi Tatsu, Zach Ryder, Sgt. Slaughter, Layla, and classic Undertaker.

Jeff Jarrett was keeping a low profile backstage at last week's "TNA iMPACT!" television taping. One source noted at some point he sat down behind closed doors with Kurt Angle to clear the air.

TNA officials would like Ric Flair to debut on their January 4th live special, but Flair has yet to make a decision about joining the company.

The new "TNA Epics" show will debut in a Thursday night at 11pm time slot after "TNA IMPACT!". The first show will air on January 14th, with Mick Foley hosting a one hour show featuring Kurt Angle's three best matches and an interview with Angle.

TMZ caught up with Mick Foley at LAX last week and asked him several questions about the Hulkamania Tour, Umaga, Mr. Socko, his career as an author, and his ear he lost in the ring with Vader. When asked about Mr. Socko, he said the airlines made him check it because it is considered a dangerous weapon. He was then asked if it is the same sock each time. Foley said no he usually threw it out to their crowd afterwards so it was a different sock each time and every year his accountant seems to wonder why he writes off $800 in socks as a work expense every year. Mick even poked fun at himself by telling TMZ it must have been a slow day if they had to talk to a wrestler. It is a very entertaining video and can be seen by clicking here.

Jeremy Borash and Mick Foley missed the "TNA iMPACT!" tapings last week because they were in Las Vegas for Playboy radio.

Mick Foley and Jeremy Borash were representing TNA last Thursday morning at the Toys for Hope event in Long Island, NY.

Slam Wrestling has a story on Hulk Hogan. He defined his position with TNA as a "creative executive position" and claimed he led "WCW Monday Nitro" to spank "WWF Monday Night Raw" for 2 1/2 years. Well, it was actually 84 consecutive weeks so he's only 46 weeks out. He said regarding Vince Russo: "If the wrestlers need a writer to tell them what to do, they can pack their bags and go north to WWE. Writers don't have a feel and instinct for the business. They've never been in the ring. If I can't make it work, I'll pack my bags and leave. I want to make the characters come alive. Characters like Andre the Giant and Rowdy Roddy Piper were larger than life. That's what I want. TNA is doing a lot of things right. They have a lot of great talent. But there are a lot of major WWE stars burning my phone up, asking if they can work for TNA when their contracts are up." He said he has no current plans to wrestle here but if the fans cheer loud enough, "then maybe we have to do something about it." To read the story in its entirety, click here.

When the Hulkster talks you can certainly expect some out of this world quotes that will leave people scratching their heads. Yes, he once said that when he slammed Andre the Giant, he weight at a whopping 700lbs. But this time around, the WWE Hall of Famer predicted the number that the live "TNA iMPACT!" will get on January 4th when it goes head to head against WWE's "Monday Night RAW". Speaking during an interview on the "Right After Wrestling" show on SIRIUS 98, Hulk Hogan said that ratings for the live show will triple to a 3.0 for his debut on "TNA iMPACT". He even promised to bring wrestlers such as A. J. Styles "to life" while he is there.

Hulk Hogan really knows how to milk a story and be in the tabloids. He has a 1/2 page in the new National Enquirer about his fianc?e Jennifer begging him to retire from wrestling. This is based on what she saw the Hulkster go through in being bloodied by Ric Flair in Australia They have a picture of Hogan and Jennifer as well as a bloodied Hogan about to get punched by Flair.

The Hulkamania show with the Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair match from Melbourne that was to air last Sunday on One HD in Australia, never aired. There was not an explanation as to why.

Jim Cornette noted in a great interview with [url-http://www.f4wonline.com]F4Wonline.com that he would be meeting with Ohio Valley Wrestling owner Danny Davis next week and maybe doing something again with the group. A high percentage of the current WWE roster is made up of talent who at one time or another trained with OVW during a near decade-long developmental affiliation.

The Sun has a story on United Kingdom rock band Kasabian who have been checking into hotels on tour using the names of Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, and Steve Austin, among others to avoid groupies. To read the entire story, click here.

The Sun also has an article with quotes from last week's Wrestling Observer about how Britney Spears ran into Umaga on the plane back from Australia and actually recognized him before recognizing Ric Flair. You can read the article here.

Dirty Dutch Mantell's new book, The World According to Dutch, is coming soon. It's 270 pages and 32 chapters long and covers the early years of wrestling up to the present time. The book will be available for sale starting next starting next week just in time for Christmas. It will be offered for sale online through createspace and Amazon.com. Dutch is also offering a Special Collectors Edition available only through his website. Dutch has also posted a new blog. His topic this week is titled "The Undertaker Knocks A Guy Out in a Bar". It also contains details on the contents of the book and ordering info. You can check it out and order the book at [url-http://www.dutchmantell.com]DutchMantell.com.

Jack Frank's Tulsa Films has released "Tulsa A to Z" on DVD and he chose one
thing to spotlight about Tulsa for each letter of the alphabet. For the letter H, he chose Howard Hopkins, who was a photographer in Tulsa. While spotlighting Hopkins, Tulsa mayor Dewey Bartlett was interviewed because he now owns all of Hopkins' pictures and negatives. A couple of the pictures shown was of a wrestling match that took place in 1952 at the Coliseum in Tulsa pitting Leroy McGuirk vs. Joe Lyman. The DVD can be purchased at several locations around Tulsa like Spirit Bank, Steve's Sundry & Books, QuikTrip, and Walgreens, or online at TulsaFilms.com.

The movie "Ultimate Death 3" will feature the likes of Joe Laurinaitis (Road Warrior Animal), Kevin Nash, Ricky Morton, Shane Douglas, Dawn Marie, Tammy Sytch, Stevie Richards, and Melissa Coates.

Gail Gagne, the granddaughter of wrestling legend Verne Gagne and daughter of Greg Gagne, has surrendered to authorities in Minnesota. She has been charged with two counts of felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct stemming from a police complaint filed by a 17 year old male student who has come forward to report the sex crimes. She was hired at Cretin-Derham Hall High School in St. Paul, MN as an assistant basketball coach in November 2007 and served as a substitute teacher on a daily basis from January to September 2008. During the summer months she served as the weight room supervisor and the 16-year-old male student had a work-study job at the same location. She reportedly took him out to restaurants and drove him home, and on several occasions engaged in sexual conduct with him at her home. The complaint alleges that they also had sex at the La Quinta hotel near the Mall of America on September 13-14, 2008. Police have hotel records and credit card receipts to substantiate claims made by the young man. Her attorney Earl Gray has stated she will plead not guilty.
