Dark Side of the Ring review: ‘Paul Orndorff: Saving Mr. Wonderful’

The latest episode of Dark Side of the Ring focuses on ‘Mr. Wonderful’ Paul Orndorff, a superstar of the 1980’s and instrumental figure in the success of WrestleMania and the WWF/E.

Regarded as a genuine tough guy in wrestling, Orndorff came from the humblest of beginnings and learned to channel his anger into his in-ring performance. His cocky, self-absorbed gimmick led to him being one of the top heels of the 1980’s.

The Physique, The Talent, The Draw

Ultimately, this episode ends up being something of a tribute instead of a tabloid tragedy. Orndorff was one of the most captivating performers of wrestling’s golden era and the episode shares his triumphs alongside his painful final years, ensuring that Paul Orndorff is remembered not just as a character, but as a complex man who gave everything to his art.
