Kody Lane was announced as receiving a WWE tryout during “SummerSlam” weekend.

This past week, A. J. Styles revealed the five wrestlers he hand picked for the WWE tryout during "SummerSlam" weekend and Colton Theron Vaught was among the wrestlers that Styles picked. Styles said "Colton Theron Vaught, he’s another one. Colton is a pro wrestler and MMA guy, so he’s in fantastic shape. Not the biggest guy, but he looks a little crazy to me, and I like that about him."

WWE’s countdown of the 25 most shocking moments in “SummerSlam” history continued. At #23 was Shawn Michaels returning to the ring in an unsanctioned match against Triple H in 2002, and at #22 was The Ultimate Warrior ending The Honky Tonk Man’s historic Intercontinental Title reign in 1988. They also listed at #14 was Shawn Michaels costing The Undertaker the WWF Championship against Bret Hart in 1997, and at #10 was Paul Bearer betraying The Undertaker in 1996.

Jim Ross says Vince McMahon will return to wrestling soon and take back WWE or buy another promotion: “He ain’t out of the game. Vince isn’t out of the game. That’s just not his makeup. What he’s going to do? One would assume he’ll have maybe some things to do with wrestling, because that’s where he made his way. So I don’t know, man. The world’s open to him.
It seems like a lot of things interest him. He likes wrestling, and…I think that’s where I’d see him headed. He’s probably going to steer his own ship, build his own boat, and take it from there. Money won’t be an object. He’s got the cash to do whatever the hell he wants. At least that’s what I think.”

Sammy Guevara just made one tiny social media change, and now AEW fans are wondering if something much bigger is coming. Sammy removed every AEW reference from his bio on X after spending the past year making only scattered appearances on the company’s television shows. Guevara then made sure people noticed the change by posting a two-word message. “New bio.” That was all it took for fans to start questioning whether the former TNT Champion could be nearing the end of his AEW run. Guevara has been with AEW since the company launched in 2019 and was presented as one of its original “Four Pillars” alongside M. J. F., Darby Allin, and Jungle Boy (Jack Perry). He went on to win the TNT Championship three times, along with one reign as Interim TNT Champion. Despite that history, Guevara has spent much of his recent run working in Ring of Honor instead of appearing regularly on AEW television. The social media change also comes after Guevara addressed his lack of television time during an interview with MuscleManMalcolm. He made it clear that Tony Khan decides when he appears, but said he remains ready whenever AEW calls. Guevara pointed to his match against Darby Allin as an example, claiming he received only a few hours’ notice before competing for the AEW World Championship. Guevara added that he still believes he can deliver whenever he is given the opportunity, regardless of how much preparation time he receives. Removing AEW from a social media bio does not guarantee Guevara is leaving, but the timing is impossible to ignore. After months of limited television time, Guevara has now given fans another reason to question where he stands with the company.

In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence just across the river in Philadelphia, the sports staff of the Cherry Hill Courier-Post in Cherry Hill, NJ has compiled a wide-ranging list of the top 250 South Jersey athletes of all time. On the list at #245 is King Kong Bundy from Washington Township High in Washington Township, NJ. This is what it says: 245. Chris Pallies, Washington Township This 1975 graduate of Washington Township was better known as his stage name “King Kong Bundy” where he was beloved as a trash-talking villain in professional wrestling. The 6-foot-4, 450-pound behemoth wrestled on several different professional tours during a 26-year career. Pallies won a two-time Region 8 champ (heavyweight in 1973 and 1974) for the Minutemen and later won a JUCO title for Gloucester County College.
