The Scoop

The Scoop

Posted: Nov 10th 2024 By: Oklafan Staff

NEWS
Michael Hayes and Bruce Prichard are currently on temporary leave from WWE. Dave Meltzer first reported the news on Wednesday. The longtime WWE creative members are expected to be back, although the time frame was said to be indefinite. The report stated that Hayes’ absence is due to personal issues, while Prichard’s absence is officially said to be due to a family emergency. There is no connection between the two men taking time off, and those in WWE emphasize that this is not the case of the old guard being moved out as they will be brought back. Hayes has been with WWE since the 1990s as an interviewer, manager, and key figure behind the scenes as a producer and creative. Prichard is another important name to the company, with his time dating back decades. Since 1987, he has had stints on-and-off with the company. Hayes has been heavily involved in The Bloodline storyline and worked with Paul Heyman on anything involving Roman Reigns. James Gibson was listed as the producer of The Bloodline match at “Crown Jewel”, which led to speculation about Hayes’ status.

Regarding the Bill Goldberg vs. Gunther match, no date has been set for it but it was not planned for the “Royal Rumble” show as things stand right now.

“Going Ringside” spoke with Goldberg while at his induction into the Florida-Georgia Hall of Fame. You can watch the video by clicking here.

AEW will be doing a kickoff party on November 20th from 6pm to 9pm local time at Texas Live! in Arlington, TX to push ticket sales for “All In Texas” on June 12, 2025 at Globe Life Field. The event is free and open to everyone. Jeff Jarrett, Sammy Guevara, Dustin Rhodes, Thunder Rosa, Athena, Abadon, and The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd) are scheduled to appear.

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help Dutch Mantell and his wife with their several health issues after their insurance plan got depleted. Mantell, who people may know as Zeb Colter in WWE, performed for tons of territories throughout the past five decades including WWE, WCW, TNA, and independents. Unfortunately, Mantell has been having health problems, including suffering from sepsis twice this year. His wife of over 50 years, Cathy, had severe health issues, including sepsis and diverticulitis, and has been in and out of hospital 11 times since May 2024, including last week where
she needed emergency bowel surgery.

During Election Day 2024 in the United States, Jake Hager wrote messages in support of Donald Trump and he also accused AEW President Tony Khan of being a “communist” but then deleted his posts about Khan. Hager was scheduled for an upcoming Blitzkrieg Pro event but in the aftermath of his social media comments, the promotion announced the following on Wednesday: “Jake Hager will no longer be appearing on December 14th in Enfield, CT. On top of sponsors no longer being willing to work with him, we also just have to do what we think is right for our roster and fans. We’re going to get to work on a replacement asap. Tickets aren’t on sale for the event he was scheduled for. Everybody can do with their hard earned money as they please.”

SLAM! Wrestling posted a story about Jake Hager calling out Tony Khan. You can read the story by clicking here.

Rob Faint of RingTheDamnBell.Wordpress.com wrote a story entitled “Cover your Eyes- Top Five Wrestlers Who Use Mist” and among those mentioned were Kabuki. Honorable Mention went to Killer Khan, The Grappler, and Kendo Nagasaki. To read the entire story, click here.
