Pablo Frage, a Texas referee filed suit against Devon Nicholson and Texas promoter Jerry Bostic due to injuries suffered while working a match with Nicholson. He is asking for more than $250,000 alleging that Nicholson was carrying a beer and stumbling and shouldn't have been allowed to perform. The lawsuit claimed Frage was supposed to cut himself in doing an angle but Nicholson wasn't pleased with the amount of blood and put him in a choke and stabbed him in the head multiple times with a spike. Frage said he lost consciousness and with no medical staff on site, was rushed to the hospital where he received seven staples. He said since this incident in December 2021, he has continued to suffer from headaches, memory problems, depression, and has scars

Impact Wrestling Hall of Famers Gail Kim and Awesome Kong will be returning to the ring at the “Impact 1000” episode. Kim has not wrestled since Rebellion 2019 when she lost to Tessa Blanchard. She has retired and continues to work for Impact in a backstage position. She last stepped in the ring in January 2020 for a match taped for “AEW Dark”. The show will be taped on Saturday, September 9th from the Westchester County Center in White Plains, NY and will air on AXS TV on September 14th.

WWE has uploaded a 35-minute video on YouTube showing Bayley, Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, A. J. Styles, Adam Pearce, Top Dolla, Karl Anderson, Doc Gallows, Otis, Mike Rome, and Byron Saxton paying tribute to Bray Wyatt. The various WWE Superstars and personalities took their time to discuss what Wyatt meant to them and some gave personal stories of their interactions with the former WWE Champion. The video ended with RAW ring announcer Samantha Irvin singing "He's got the whole world in his hands." WWE showed the Bray Wyatt tribute video on all their three shows: SmackDown, RAW, and NXT as the company continues to mourn the unexpected loss of the 36-year-old. Chris Jericho is happy to have Jake Hager by his side. Jericho recently appeared on “Casual Conversations with The Wrestling Classic” and spoke about the growth of his closest allies. Jericho said Jake Hager has proven himself to be a great utility player, fitting a role where he can do anything they need him to. “Jake, he’s done a great job too, reinventing himself as far as being this guy that we can really count on to do anything. Because he really can, you know? He really is a legit killer,” Jericho explained. “So to have him on your side as the heater works. I think he shows some great personality with the purple hat, obviously, which none of us expected would take off the way it did. We could bring that back at any time and have a big babyface moment with that. I would have Jake with me at any point in time, I really would. Because he knows, he knows who he is, and he knows his position too, in the J. A. S. He knows what his job is, and that’s such a huge deal. And like I said, anything from Stadium Stampede, to Blood and Guts, to whatever it may be, he always delivers. Always, every time, every time. It’s like he doesn’t even ever even have to win a match. Like, you know, he’s won a few,” Jericho said. “I mean, he and I tapped out Danielson at Anarchy in the Arena last year. But you know, some guys, they just are over. And they’re just good at what they do. And he’s one of them, for sure.” Jericho also praised Sammy Guevara, noting how he’s improved on the mic. “Sammy is another future world champion,” Jericho explained. “He is once again finding himself as a promo too. He was never really a great promo before. But you know, he’s done a great job the last few weeks for sure, with the JAS break up and everything. So I think just once again, it’s a pleasure to work with all those guys and girls. I had a real, real blast with it. But it comes time to make some changes and move to the next stage. And that’s kind of what we’re doing right now.”

C. M. Punk traveled to Las Vegas this week to headline the 57th Annual Cauliflower Alley Club Reunion. The former WWE and AEW World Champion received the Iron Mike Mazurki award, the highest honor of the organization. The Iron Mike Mazurki Award is bestowed upon individuals who have made exceptional contributions to professional wrestling and have exhibited outstanding dedication to the sport both inside and outside the ring. Punk addressed a sizable crowd at the Plaza Hotel & Casino and told them that the likes of Harley Race, Dusty Rhodes, Roddy Piper, and Tracy Smothers gave him the confidence to succeed in this business. He noted that while many legends have passed, he's still grateful that he can still text the likes of Bret Hart and Jerry Brisco and while he rubbed a few people the wrong way throughout his career, he always had the backing of some of the biggest wrestling legends. Punk told Teal Piper, who was sitting in the audience, that her father Roddy was his hero and the reason why he is a wrestler today. "So when people tell me that they don’t like me or the internet's mad at me, I just kind of chuckle because Roddy Piper liked me, Dusty Rhodes liked me," Punk said. "I had the respect and the backing of Harley Race before I went to the WWE, and to me, that means more than all the money in the world." Punk also credited the likes of J. B. L., Mickie James, Eddie Guerrero, and a few others who helped his career along the way.
