NEWS
Dennis Condrey was at “AEW Collision” on August 5th in Greenville, SC, and after the show was over, F. T. R. (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) and C. M. Punk brought it up and they brought Condrey in the ring. Punk also put over Ricky Steamboat and Condrey. Dax Harwood said Condrey changed the course of tag team wrestling and how because Condrey worked 300 days a year to get tag team wrestling over, he (Harwood) can be home with his family five days a week. Condrey said that F. T. R. was the best tag team in the world and thanked F. T. R. for keeping their name (The Midnight Express) alive and having similar music.

Speaking with Nick Hausman for “Haus of Wrestling”, Cameron “Ceehawk” Hawkins of The Ringer provided some insight into the match and the angle after the bell. “A bit of a ‘Collision’ note. So, in the original finish, like after the match, Ricky Steamboat was gonna chop Starks, and that was going to be it. Ricky Steamboat pulls Rick (Starks) and Punk into a room and tells them the finish that we saw. It brought Rick to tears because he appreciated it so much. So, salute to Ricky Steamboat for making a good thing, a great thing," Hawkins said. Hawkins then clarified that he talked to Starks after the match, which is how he learned about Steamboat's request. He went on to recall the conversation he had with Starks, who detailed how Steamboat came up with the idea. “Well, I mean, you know, that’s my man (Ricky Starks). So we talked about how things go and, you know, especially after the match, I was like, ‘You killed it.’ He was like, ‘Cam, this is what happened,’ and I was like, ‘Oh, that’s so cool.’ Yeah, man, salute to Steamboat. That’s dope. Because think about how cool and how physical and how visceral that was; Ricky Steamboat’s idea, and his whole thing was, ‘Look, man, this is supposed to make you look good. Not me,'" Hawkins said. “Haus of Wrestling” noted that they were able to independently confirm Hawkins' story.

Santos Escobar, A. J. Styles, and IYO SKY appeared on “The SmackDown LowDown”, which you can watch by clicking here.

Mick Foley sent his best wishes to Sonya Deville following her torn ACL: “Man, this one hurts… I am a huge fan of @sonyadevillewwe’s tag team with @chelseaagreen and they were just getting started on what would have been an incredible run as @wwe tag team champions. More than that, Sonya is a great person and wrestler, and truly deserves the best. I hate seeing anyone get dealt such a rough hand, especially when they are doing so well — but I know she’ll be back and better than ever soon.”

Ric Flair has made no secret of his wild past during his days as a wrestler, and while his party days may have slowed down after multiple health scares, he's still “The Nature Boy”. Flair has become business partners with Mike Tyson in the cannabis industry, and as part of their partnership, they had a night to remember. "I got so high with Mike [Mike Tyson] one night in the Hamptons that I went into a cannabis coma. I actually thought I died. They brought my back to my room, and I laid there and I wasn't aware of anything. I kept asking them to touch me, like you do when you think you've been hurt. People were squeezing my hand. I would be talking to them, and they wouldn't talk back to me. I was on a delayed process. I said to myself, 'Did I die? Have I just died? I feel like I did when I was in my coma, but I can think, and I don't think I could think in my coma.' That's the way I was talking to myself. All of a sudden, at three in the morning, I sat up in a blur and went, 'I'm alive. I'm back.' I called someone on the phone, 'is this really you?' That's how screwed up I got," Flair recalled while speaking to Theo Von on This Past Weekend. Flair was placed in a medically induced coma in 2017 for kidney and heart-related issues. Flair returned to the ring for his last match one year ago, teaming with Andrade el Idolo to take on Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal.

Oklafan congratulates Manico, who recently surpassed 6 months as NAW Lightweight Champion. He defeated Stephen Nitro for the held up title on February 11, 2023 at an event in Watts (Chewey).

Oklafan extends condolences to Havoc on the passing of his mother on August 11th.

Oklafan extends condolences to the family and friends of Chuck Singer (AKA Ice Diamond), who passed away August 6, 2023 from cancer. He was 57 years old. Singer debuted in 1989, having his first two matches against Moondog Spot and Buddy Landel. He worked briefly for Fritz Von Erich in WCCW before the Dallas office of that company shut down. He would eventually find his way to WWEmp in Tulsa for at least one match in 1996 where he tagged with Devlin Blanchard and lost a Hair-vs-Hair match to Generation X (Ian St. James & Zane Morris). Singer eventually ended up wrestling in Puerto Rico in 1997, where he twice captured the WWC American Light Heavyweight Title on 3 occasions. He returned to the US mainland by 1998, where he joined OPW, partnering with Dexter Hardaway under the leadership of Steve Hartley and calling themselves The Stud Factory. They beat Generation X for the OPW Oklahoma Tag Team Titles on December 13, 1997 in Tulsa, OK. But the title reign was short-lived and they lost the belts back to Generation X on January 10, 1998. Singer continued to compete in both OPW and WWC until going to jail sometime after 1999. Singer himself said that he spent 5 different terms in prison, although it's unknown if this was the first. After his release, he made his way back to the wrestling scene when he came to SRPW in 2005 for a couple of matches, including one against former tag team partner Dexter Hardaway. Singer disappeared again from the wrestling rosters, only to reappear in 2017 in the Oklahoma City area, competing for MSWA and ASP. He also ventured down into at least one company in Texas, where he won their Texas Heavyweight Title, but the name of that company is unknown. Singer did not continue to compete in Oklahoma after 2017 and slowly began to wind his career down (though he is known to have had at least one more prison sentence of 4 years in this time period). In April, 2023, he posted that he had received a diagnosis of an aggressive form of cancer and that he knew he was on borrowed time. Singer appeared on 14 documented Oklahoma wrestling cards. The earliest was the aforementioned Hair-vs-Hair Tag Team Match for WWEmp in 1996. The last was a loss to O'Brien on June 25, 2017 in Oklahoma City. Singer lived a hard life, but according to things said in a podcast appearance, he enjoyed all the positives and would love to have continued to compete in wrestling if he had been physically able to do so.
