Rick Steiner celebrated his son Bron Breakker's s NXT Title victory on January 4th after "New Year's Evil" went off the air. Steiner, who has not appeared on WWE television since he and his brother Scott left the company in 1994, embraced Breakker as the NXT crowd gave them a standing ovation. Steiner held up his son's hands and then did his trademark bark, joined by the fans and Breakker himself. Tommaso Ciampa said last year that Steiner was supposed to show up at the "Halloween Havoc" event but then changed his mind with Ciampa joking that he probably had a change of heart when he found out that his son was not winning the title. The off the air video was published by WWE on social media, and it's the first time they publicly acknowledged the relationship between the two even though commentators always hinted at that without saying it outright. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson even commented on the Instagram video, saying, "Very f*cking cool." You can see the video of Steiner & Breakker by clicking here.
Rick Steiner told Sports Illustrated that watching his son Bron Breakker win the NXT Championship was one of the best moments of his life. He said “I hope he’s even more successful than myself and his uncle. We had such a special time traveling the road as brothers, but this tops all of that. This is his time and his chance to carry the torch. Watching that match was one of the best moments of my life. As his father, I couldn’t be prouder, and so is our whole family.”
Wednesday’s episode of WWE’s "The Bump" featured appearances by Chad Gable & Otis, Beth Phoenix, and Grayson Waller. You can watch the episode by clicking here.
WWE has given up the legal battle with Ric Flair over the use of the nickname "The Man" that was being used for Becky Lynch. Flair has been claiming that he owns the rights to that nickname in pro wrestling.
Goldberg will appear on two upcoming episodes of the ABC-TV hit comedy "The Goldbergs" on January 5th and January 12th. He will reprise his recurring role as Coach Nick Mellor. He already appeared in eight different episodes before in 2017 and 2019. Goldberg will appear alongside Lea Thompson, who is also making a guest appearance, in the episode entitled “You Only Die Once, or Twice, But Never Three Times.” Goldberg appears at The Goldbergs’ house for a “Mingle Party” and samples one of Beverly Goldbergs’ appetizers. "The Goldbergs", a sitcom about a suburban family from the Philadelphia area living in the 1980s, airs on Wednesdays on ABC. You can check out the preview clip here
Oklafan extends condolences to Amanda Lynn on the passing of her aunt on January 4th.
