NEWS
WWE released 18 wrestlers from their contracts on Thursday. Among those released from the RAW and SmackDown rosters were Karrion Kross, The Lucha House Party (Gran Metalik & Lince Dorado), Bearcat Lee, Mia Yim, Eva Marie, Harry Smith, B-Fab, and Nia Jax. Released from NXT were Ember Moon, Franky Monet, Jessi Kamea, Katrina Cortez, Jeet Rama, Oney Lorcan, Trey Baxter, and Zayda Ramirez. Andrew Zarian of the "Mat Men" podcast claimed that there was belief within WWE that possibly four of the released wrestlers were given their marching orders due to not being vaccinated for COVID-19. The New York Post spoke to a source with knowledge of WWE's operations, and they were told that one of the reasons Jax was released was due to not being vaccinated. They don't make mention of the other three names.

Some of those released Thursday have used social media to give their reaction to being cut. There were some surprises in the cuts and several industry insiders are reporting that a handful of those released were because they refused to get their COVID-19 vaccination, although they were not identified by name. "Officially free to work in 30 days! And yes…The Smokeshow is back," wrote Scarlett after the news came out that she was given the pink slip. Mick Foley, who was a great admirer of Karrion Kross and Scarlett, said that they can get to be a duo again and wherever they go, they will be one of the hottest acts in the business. "Thank you for the kind words Mick! I can’t even tell you how excited I am to perform again! I’m looking forward to my first match in over 2 years," replied Scarlett. Scarlett's fiancée, Karrion Kross, tweeted, "I heard you all the entire time," along with an hour glass and a video of a graveyard. Franky Monet, who arrived in NXT with much hype after a successful Impact career under the name of Taya Valkyrie, wrote, "Once I’ve gathered myself from feeling all levels of disappointment, sadness, anger and also uncontrollable laughter, I’ll have a statement. But for now...30 days." A fan replied arguing that she never did anything in NXT and Monet quickly fired back. "BECAUSE I DID WHAT I WAS TOLD!!!! That’s what you do when you have a job," she said. Former NXT Women's champion Ember Moon, who was brought up to the main roster and then sent back to NXT, added, "All I can do is laugh..." while another female star who was fired, Mia Yim, added, "90 days, LETS GET TO WORK!"

Dave Meltzer said there was a plan within WWE to repackage Karrion Kross for a third time as he had been pulled from TV by Vince McMahon because he hadn't gotten over, especially with his new look. On Twitter, Kross joked with a fan who wondered if he could get Kross' helmet

Jim Ross announced on his "Grilling JR" podcast that he will soon start 22 radiation treatments to deal with his skin cancer. Ross said that doctors want to knock them out in consecutive days so he has to figure out how he cannot miss a day of work while under three weeks of straight radiation. "It’s just a matter of dealing with these issues, gritting your teeth, and moving on," Ross said. "That’s kind of what I’m doing." He said that he didn't get the worst kind of skin cancer but he still has to deal with it and it's just a "pain in the ass" - as he put it - to get radiation. "The good thing is there is no chemotherapy. So that helps with all the after effects and things of that nature. I’m handling it, I’m dealing with it, I’ve dealt with more and will continue to persevere," Ross continued. JR also thanked all the fans who have reached out to offer him support during these times. "I do appreciate everybody’s support. It means a lot quite frankly that people care enough to send me a message whether it is Twitter, Facebook, or wherever it may be. I appreciate that. Again, I’m feeling good."

Oklafan congratulates Cardinal Sin on his marriage on October 30th.

Oklafan extends condolences to the family and friends of Angelo Mosca, Sr, who passed away November 6th from the complications due to Alzheimer’s disease. He was 84 years old. Mosca initially gained notoriety in the world of professional football. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in 1959, but had already decided to play for the Canadian Football League's Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He played in 9 Grey Cups (the CFL equivalent to the Super Bowl), more than any other player, and was on the winning team for 5 of them. Almost from the beginning of his football career, he was also involved in pro wrestling, competing in the off-season like many other dual sport participants. Mosca would compete all over North America eventually making his way to TSW in 1979. He would defeat Mike Sharpe, Jr. for the TSW Brass Knucks Title on July 9, 1979. The circumstances of how he lost the title are unknown. He would regain the title on August 1, 1979 from Bob Sweetan, but would lose it in October to Bill Watts. Mosca would bring his in-ring career to a close in the WWF, challenging Bob Backlund for the WWF World Title and feuding with Pat Patterson. He then transitioned to doing color commentary for WWF for about 5 months, but was then fired. After that, he promoted NWA events in Ontario, Canada from 1985 to 1987. At the time of his death, Mosca had 7 documented Oklahoma appearances. The earliest was May 29, 1979 at a TSW event in Oklahoma City where he faced Dan Johnson, but no winner is documented. The last was August 12, 1984 in Oklahoma City where he lost the NWA Southern Title to Jim Neidhart at an MSW event.
