NEWS
New TNA World Heavyweight champion Sting has been telling everyone that he is retiring at year's end, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Some in the company believe Sting has been using the retirement card as a tool to get a raise from the company. Dixie Carter has been firm in keeping Sting around, even thought Jeff Jarrett wasn't as keen in resigning the Stinger last year. Sting has a dream contract, as he doesn't work house shows or the international dates. There are on going negotiations with Sting to sign for another year.

TNA was leary about allowing Sting to work a long match at "Bound for Glory". The internal feeling is that Sting isn't very creative, and gets lost in matches.

Jim Cornette recently announced the main event for TNA's "Genesis" pay-per-view. It will be Sting and a mystery partner of his choosing vs. Kevin Nash & TNA World Champion Kurt Angle with the winner of the fall becoming TNA World Champion.

Junior Fatu is already asking for more money.

No update in regards to the TNA power struggle between Jeff Jarrett and Kurt Angle. Apparently Angle?s coalition did not comfort Dixie Carter, as was talked about. The belief is that things are status quo, and no changes are immediate. Many wrestlers are unhappy with the booking, and want more logical booking to be instituted. Despite the addition of another hour of weekly TV, the morale is still way down. The feeling is that with the extra hour, the company tries to get the entire roster on each episode. I have heard complaints about the amount of television time devoted to Kurt Angle?s segments. Now it appears that Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett apparently hashed things out.

WWE will release a DVD entitled "Shawn Michaels - Heartbreak and Triumph" on December 4th. Among some of the matches on DVD are Shawn Michaels vs. Billy Jack Haynes (WCCW; 11/1/85), The Midnight Rockers (Shawn Michaels & Marty Jannetty) vs. Buddy Rose & Doug Somers (AWA; 10/2/87), The Rockers (Shawn Michaels & Marty Jannetty) vs. The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart) (WWF; October 1990); Shawn Michaels vs. Jeff Jarrett (WWF; "In Your House" 7/23/95). The DVD is scheduled to be released December 4th.

WWE has commissioned a book on the life of Andre the Giant.

Dusty Rhodes and Jim Neidhart attended the Florida Championship Wrestling event this past Tuesday. FCW is the new WWE developmental fed and Neidhart's daughter Nattie is training there.

WWE RAW writers Ed Koskay and Brian Gewirtz happen to find Jim Duggan funny as a comedy figure, thus the reason he is kept on the roster.

After signing autographs at the DEW Action Sports Tour, Ric Flair was spotted in the stands watching BMX Vert.

Many of the wrestlers that appeared at the San Francisco Fan Fest at the Cow Palace over the weekend received checks that bounced, including Steve Austin. We heard a report that Roddy Piper actually rode with someone affiliated with the event to a nearby bank to cash his check.

Charlie Haas and his late brother Russ Haas will be inducted in the Jersey All Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame on Saturday, October 27th at the JAPW event in Rahway, NJ.
