Michael Faith, Kyra Maya, and Jerome Daniel Griffey were all inducted into the Texoma Pro Wrestling Ring of Honor Friday.

Jeff Jarrett is entering the world of podcasting with a new show titled "My World with Jeff Jarrett". The podcast will be part of Conrad Thompson's podcast empire at AdFreeShows.com and begins on Tuesday, May 4th. The show will take listeners on a journey not only through Jarrett’s Hall of Fame career as an in-ring performer but also his time as a promoter and company owner. Along with co-host Thompson, wrestling’s self-proclaimed King of the Mountain will look back at the Jarrett family history in the sports entertainment business that dates back to 1946, his personal accomplishments, and his forays into company ownership with the creation of NWA Total Nonstop Action (now known as Impact Wrestling) and Global Force Wrestling. "For years I've been asked, 'If I could do a podcast with anyone in wrestling today, who would it be?' And I've always been consistent that one of those names is Jeff Jarrett" Thompson said. "If Jarrett's life was a movie script, nobody would believe it. I can't wait to dive into Jeff's story and hear directly from one of the most accomplished and controversial people to ever be in the wrestling business. 'My World' is going to be a can't-miss podcast." Jarrett is eager to share his unique perspectives on the business with Thompson’s listeners. "The King of the Mountain and the Podfather finally coming together" Jarrett said. "I’ve been aware of Conrad for quite some time now, and he’s obviously a skilled interviewer with great passion for the wrestling business. He not only does his homework but asks the questions the fans really want to know the most. I can’t wait to get started on May 4."

MVP took to Instagram this week and responded to a fan who said he should help Keith Lee. MVP made an Instagram post that marked one year since he returned to regular action with WWE. He worked the 2020 Royal Rumble Match in his return, then lost to Rey Mysterio on the January 27th RAW, and lost to Drew McIntyre on the February 17th RAW. The April 20th RAW, where he lost to current WWE Intercontinental Champion Apollo Crews in a Money In the Bank qualifier, was the beginning of his regular return to the storylines. He started appearing regularly in May and linked up with WWE Champion Bobby Lashley, an alliance that remains strong. “What a difference a year can make…,” he wrote as the Instagram caption, on a photo of the WWE logo. A fan responded in the comments section and said MVP should help Lee by bringing him into The Hurt Business. Lee has been out of action since February with his WWE status up in the air. The fan wrote, “You should help @realkeithlee make his return by introducing him as your bodyguard or something in the hurt business.” “No I shouldn’t,” MVP responded. Lee has been out with unknown health issues, not because of creative not having anything for him. It was reported a few weeks back that he had not been cleared to compete.

WWE began releasing some of their lesser used stars as they do after WrestleMania every year. Among those released were Mickie James, Samoa Joe, Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, Chelsea Green, Tucker, Kalisto, Bo Dallas, Wesley Blake, and Mojo Rawley.

Mickie James was among the 10 wrestlers to be released by WWE last week. She took to Twitter to send out an interesting post: “If you wondering what I’m doing next… The answer is simple. Everything they said I couldn’t.” James also noted that she’s not taking any media requests at this time.“I have been inundated with media request & I’m just not there yet. I will address everything exclusively on @thegawtv this week. If you have questions please submit them there & I will try to answer. Thank you all! you. See you on Wednesday! Cc: @SoCalValerie @REALLiSAMARiE James was part of the “NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver” Kickoff pre-show panel earlier this month and she last wrestled in the 2021 Women’s Royal Rumble Match.

Heads rolled this past week at Titan Towers as WWE fired a few employees who were part of the talent relations department after Mickie James tweeted that she received her stuff at her home from the company in a black trash bag. In a tweet addressed to Vince McMahon, James wrote, “Im not sure if you’re aware, I did receive my @WWE care package today. Thank you,” along with the hash tags #AlwaysBlessedandGrateful #WomensWrestlingMatters. The picture accompanying the tweet had a black trash bag in a cardboard box. Stephanie McMahon and Triple both publicly addressed the controversy and apologized to James on behalf of the company, noting that the person involved is no longer employed. “I am embarrassed you or anyone else would be treated this way,” wrote Stephanie McMahon. “I apologize personally and on behalf of @WWE. The person responsible is no longer with our company.” Triple H added, “Upon learning of the disrespectful treatment some of our recently released talent received on behalf of the company, we took immediate action. The person responsible for this inconsiderate action has been fired and is no longer with @WWE.” James was released last week along with several other Superstars.

Pro wrestling superstar and current free agent Mickie James issued a lengthy statement on her social media channels last week to address the recent trash bag incident following her release from WWE. If you don’t know the story, James posted a photo online of a package that WWE had sent her shortly after it was announced that she was cut, which included the former women’s champion’s gear inside of a giant black trash bag, with her name written on it. The symbolism was not lost on the WWE fanbase or higher-ups, with Triple H later apologizing about the incident, and announcing that the person responsible was fired. Several former WWE stars, including Maria Kanellis and Fred Rosser, wrote that they had a similar action happen when they were let go. James states that while she feels bad someone lost their job, she does not apologize for assuring it never happens to talent in the future. “I would like to address this one last time, then we can all move on. I have so many amazing thing on the horizon. The last thing I desire is to have any of that tainted with ugliness and negativity. I take zero pride or joy in the fact that someone would lose their job ever. Especially someone I considered a friend. I am confident that Vince & the McMahons had no idea that this is how we were sent packing. It hurt a fragile me much more ten years ago when my belongings arrived on my doorstep, because WWE was my everything. I’ve grown as woman and a person as much as we all have in this business. I am stronger today than I’ve ever been and smart enough to know that it wasn’t a deliberate attack on me. However, the symbolism can not be denied. I am sorry that a thoughtless and tone deaf act would cost anyone their job. But I am not sorry that I had the courage to ensure it will never happen to anyone else moving forward. So if that’s my final mark in this company moving forward I am ok with that. When I first started in this business one of the best pieces of advice I received was, “Just leave the business better than you found it kid” and that has always been in my ultimate goal. I love you all so much. I am legitimately grateful for my time at WWE and throughout my whole career. I am looking forward to everything that is next. I truly hope you are too and perhaps you will join me.”

A. J. Styles completed his WWE Grand Slam at WrestleMania after he teamed with Omos to win the RAW Tag Team Titles from The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods). A Grand Slam Champion in WWE is considered when you win either the WWE or Universal Championship, either the RAW or SmackDown Tag Team Championships, and both the Intercontinental and United States Titles. Styles has won the WWE, RAW Tag Team, Intercontinental, and United States titles, making him the latest name to join the Grand Slam list of champs. His tag team partner, Omos, also joined a select few who won a title on his first match. The 7' 3" monster picked up the win for his team after destroying both members of The New Day after he got tagged in.

WWE’s YouTube channel uploaded John Cena vs. A. J. Styles from the February 27, 2018 episode of SmackDown, and an 8-Man Tag Team Match with Cena, Triple H, Kane. & The Undertaker facing Edge, Randy Orton, J. B. L. & Chavo Guerrero, Jr. from the April 21, 2008 episode of RAW.

Mattel announced Retros are returning for Christmas 2021. Roddy Piper and Mean Gene Okerlund were shown with more on the way. Another wave of Masters of the Universe figures were also announced. Next series features Bret Hart, Junkyard Dog, Sgt. Slaughter, and Andre the Giant. Tons of additional figures coming in future assortments including Corporate Big Bossman, British Bulldog in jeans, Cactus Jack, Colonel Mustafa, The Warlord, MVP, Big John Studd, ECW Bam Bam Bigelow, and a 2 in 1 figure of Sid Vicious.

The family of Ethel Johnson, Babs Wingo, and Marva Scott, three sisters who worked for Billy Wolfe in the 50s and remained in the business for several years after, posted a video. They noted WWE never called them about Ethel Johnson going into the Hall of Fame and said the footage WWE had of Johnson during the Hall of Fame ceremony was actually of Sandy Parker. They also said Wingo and not Johnson was the first black woman wrestler in the U.S., but that Johnson was the first one to hold a championship. They said they did call WWE and that WWE would make the correction. You can see the video by clicking here.

WWE Shop has released a Mankind Signature Series title belt.

During an appearance on "WINCLY", Al Snow spoke about what it was like to have Mick Foley join the JOB Squad. He said “If they had taken it like they were starting to take it… that direction where we were a group of rebels fighting against the cause, and Mick was part of it too. It was kind of like the Island of Misfit Toys type of thing. I think it would have worked. It would have resonated, but then I think they saw the potential for it because we had that one run-in with Mick in the ring. They shifted the idea over to DX of somebody rebelling against the standard, against the establishment type of thing.”

Broken Icon Comics is thrilled to announce the release of The Ballad of Al Snow and Head, a comedic romp that takes us from the real world deep into the insanity of Al’s mind. The premier issue is set in a post-apocalyptic Louisville, KY, where Al’s misadventures lead him to underground societies, brutal Thunderdome-esque fighting rings, and the highest levels of government. Al Snow is the hero that no one asked for, and just can’t seem to get rid of. A blend of action, comedy, and parody come together in a tale unlike any other. Teaming up with Al presented a unique opportunity. A chance to make a comic book featuring a wrestler without resorting to a biographical or generic wrestling book. The goal was to take what was great about Al’s character, and tell stories in such a way only comics could do. Why limit the adventures through Al’s insanity to the ring, or even the real world? The Ballad of Al Snow and Head launched with a Kickstarter on April 22nd, with a street date of May 14th. The book is written by Eric Watkins, with art by Tommy Patterson (Game of Thrones, Farscape), colors by Rob Dumo (Robyn Hood, KCNA) and Nick Wentland (TMNT, GI Joe), and letters by Justin Birch (Miraculous, Birds of Prey). “To say that I am excited and honored to have this comic book being published, based on myself and HEAD, would be an understatement. I will always be grateful for my professional wrestling career and my time being a WWE superstar. It has continued to give me amazing opportunities such as this,” said Al Snow.

Kenny Dykstra, a former member of the Spirit Squad, has announced his retirement from wrestling: “I’ve decided to retire from in ring wrestling. When I started at 13 I thought I’d retire at 40. But smart investments over time have allowed me to be done by now. I’m in my prime, and that will go towards my family and being a father. Thanks to the fans who stuck beside me”.
