El Fuego del Sol was the victim during Lance Archer’s entrance on this past week’s AEW Dynamite episode.

Speaking to United Kingdom based TalkSPORT, Mickie James explained what happened on RAW when the referee stopped her match against Asuka, deeming her unfit to continue despite still being obviously in control. James was perplexed as to why the match was stopped, saying that wrestling is a dangerous sport and the referee's job is to protect them and make sure it never goes too far or no one gets hurt. "So he made his decision based on what he thought was a reality, that I was hurt or I couldn’t continue and that’s unfortunate for me," James said. "I felt like I could continue and it’s an unfortunate loss. But, it’s not a real loss let’s face it. It was the final decision, what can I do? Except go in there a throw a fit on Monday!" James said that the referee shouldn't be blamed because it wasn't just his call and someone in his ear must have told him that they thought she was hurt. "They’re just trying to protect me and keep me safe because concussions are a real thing. What we do as a sport is very dangerous. So if somebody gets a concussion, not only can they not wrestle the rest of that match, but they could possibly never wrestle again depending on how bad it is, same with football," James added. The former champ said that it was an unfortunate episode for her but she's fine and the only thing that was hurting was her nose after a knee lift.

WWE Network News reported that a "WWE Timeline" episode on Trish Stratus and Mickie James’ feud debuted on the WWE Network on Wednesday, September 16th. Stratus and James appeared on Wednesday morning’s episode of WWE’s "The Bump" as well.

Tucker of Heavy Machinery posted a tweet thanking Gerald Brisco following Brisco’s release from WWE: “Wouldn’t be where I am today without @Fgbrisco. I and many others, particularly in the amateur wrestling circle, have him to thank for our opportunity in @WWE. He’s a great man with a great legacy. Thank you Mr. Brisco”.

There is a premiere of the movie "The Whittler" on October 16th in Wise,VA which includes Al Snow. who is one of the leads, appearing. The movie debuts on Amazon that day.

Fans of the Roddy Piper film "They Live" take note. The film will be released on 4K Ultra High Definition for the first time ever on December 8, 2020. Regular and limited edition versions are available through Scream Factory.

Squared Circle Comics has a Kickstarter for their Killer Bees comic book project. The campaign ends this Sunday, September 20. The Killer Bees is the authorized comic book biography of 1980’s WWF tag team legends, B. Brian Blair and Jumping Jim Brunzell. It is a three issue, 77-page comic book series that reveals the Bees’ epic feud with The Hart Foundation and their unforgettable matches at WrestleMania II and III. Oklafan extends condolences to the family and friends of Jerry Brown, who passed away from heart failure on September 15, 2020. He was 83 years old. Brown was born in Albert Lea, MN and after his mother’s death from a brain tumor when he was 3, the family was uprooted, first to Iowa, and then Kansas City, MO, where he attended high school for 3 days, then dropped out and worked in construction. It was there that he discovered pro wrestling, as live shows occurred weekly on Thursday nights. Brown trained and picked up wrestling very quickly under the tutelage of Charlie Adcocks and Bob Orton, Sr. But it still took about 4 years before promoter Bob Geigel would give him a shot. A brief stint in the Central States area led to him then going to Tri-State Wrestling in Oklahoma, where he would pair with Jack Donovan and win the TSW United States Tag Team Titles on December 8, 1969 in Tulsa from The Medics. They lost the titles back to The Medics before the end of the month, but booker Bill Watts recognized that he had something special in the team of Donovan & Brown and prepared to repackage them. Then, Donovan broke his ankle and lost his spot in the tag team. That spot went to Dale Hey, best known as Buddy Roberts, but at this point wrestling as Dale Valentine. Together with Brown, they would form The Hollywood Blondes and have an incredible 7 year run as a top tag team in the United States and Canada. Shortly after coming together, they won the TSW United States Tag Team Titles in a tournament final over Bill Watts & Danny Hodge on May 8, 1970 in Oklahoma City. They only held them a few weeks, losing them to Luke Brown & Danny Hodge on May 27, 1970, but regained them just two days later, on May 29, 1970, in Oklahoma City. They continued to reign as champions until a controversial decision against Bill Watts & Billy Red Lyons led to the titles being held up on July 9, 1970. But the Blondes’ luck continued as they regained the belts one week later, on July 16, 1970. They would keep them until losing them to Watts & Lyons on November 29, 1970. At this point, the Blondes left TSW, primarily because Valentine, as a Canadian citizen, had to return to Canada periodically. So the Blondes entered Canada and won tag team gold there in 1972. And when they returned in 1973, they added Red Sutton (later known as Sir Oliver Humperdink) to the team as the manager. By this point, the Blondes returned to TSW, winning the TSW United States Tag Team Titles for a 4th time from Terry Garvin [1st] & Bull Bullinski on February 20, 1973 in Tulsa. This reign lasted two months until they lost the belts to Rip Tyler & Eddie Sullivan on April 23, 1973. Now in high demand, the Blondes began to travel to other territories: Florida (where promoter Eddie Graham never seemed to know what to do with them), Los Angeles , Japan (which was fine with Brown, but did not agree with Valentine) and the Central States area, where their success was almost as big as it was in TSW. On one last occasion, the Blondes returned to TSW, defeating Greg Valentine & Gorgeous George, Jr. for the TSW United States Tag Team Titles on March 18, 1976. This reign only lasted a couple of weeks and they lost the belts to Buck Robley & Bob Slaughter on March 29, 1976 in Tulsa. The Blondes then parted ways, with Valentine leaving for Texas and Brown forming a new partnership with Ron McFarlane. Dressed in striped outfits and masks, they billed themselves as The Alabama Chain Gang, managed by J. J. Dillon. Success for the gimmick came in Los Angeles and Florida, but Brown hated working under the suit in Florida, due to the heat. Brown returned to TSW, eventually forming a new partnership with Bobby Jaggers. On May 5, 1978, Jaggers & Brown won the TSW United States Tag Team Titles from Ray Candy & Steven Little Bear in Oklahoma City. Their reign lasted over 6 months, ending on November 11, 1978 when the lost the belts to Mike George & Randy Tyler in Tulsa. It was the last time that Brown would hold the US Tag Team Titles, but not the last title in TSW that he would touch. Brown would go down to Puerto Rico, but did not care for the hostility of the crowds there and eventually made his way back to TSW, reforming his tag team with Ron McFarlane, but this time competing as themselves. Managed by Skandar Akbar and dubbed “Akbar’s Army”, the pair feuded with Frank Hill & Terry Orndorff for the TSW Tag Team Titles. The belts were held up after a match between the teams in mid-February 1981 and on February 27, 1981, Brown & McFarlane defeated Hill & Orndorff for the vacant titles. Their reign lasted 3 months before losing the belts to Eddie Gilbert & Ricky Morton on May 16, 1981 in Tulsa. It was the last championship in TSW that Brown would hold. By this point, Brown’s passion for wrestling had begun to dwindle. He would briefly attempt to promote his own company in Iowa, mostly so his sons Mark and Rex, could get wrestling careers started. However, they never had the desire for the business that their father did. Brown then disappeared and was rumored to have been in trouble with the law, but that was dispelled in 2010 when he turned up at the Tragos/Thesz Hall of Fame induction in Waterloo, IA. He was revealed to have been living in Tulsa at the time, having worked as a bouncer and a bartender. But his health was gradually failing and 6 months before his death, his doctors told him that there was nothing they could do for his ailing heart. So Brown continued to live life as long as it gave him. He visited his daughter just hours before his body was found on his son Rex’s property, where he lived in a trailer. Brown competed on 138 documented wrestling cards in Oklahoma. The earliest was February 14, 1969, where he defeated Mario Galento in Oklahoma City. The last was February 26, 1981, where he and Ron McFarlane faced Frank Hill & Terry Orndorff in Oklahoma City. The result of that match is unknown.
