NEWS
Matt Hardy got busted open the hard way on AEW Dynamite on Wednesday after Sammy Guevara threw a chair at him, hitting him in the face during their brawl at ringside. Matt tried to protect his face and somewhat managed to break the speed a bit but the damage was already done. Guevara threw the chair from a short distance, resulting in Hardy suffering a gash just below his hairline. "You cocky, weird, reckless little piece of sh!t," Hardy tweeted afterwards. "YOU'RE DEAD!" Matt's wife Reby also chimed in, calling Guevara a "f*cking dumbass." By the time the whole angle played out, Hardy was left with a crimson mask, not to mention going through a table as well. Hardy was patched up backstage by AEW ringside doctor Dr. Sampson and required a few stitches to close the wound.

WWE announced episodes of "WWE Timeline", a new show on the WWE Network which will cover major historical feuds. Sunday's debut episode is on Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz, August 12th will have Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart, August 19th will have John Cena vs. A.J. Styles, and August 26th has Randy Orton vs. Christian.

WWE's YouTube channel has uploaded The Mega Bucks (Ted DiBiase & Andre the Giant) vs. The Mega Powers (Hulk Hogan & WWF World Champion Randy Savage, w/ Miss Elizabeth) from "SummerSlam 1988", a match which culminated when Miss Elizabeth removed her skirt to distract guest referee Jesse "The Body" Ventura.

MVP, who since returning at the Royal Rumble has become one of the MVPs - pun intended - on the roster, has signed a multi-year deal with the company. In a post on social media, MVP said that he's drinking "the good stuff" after he came to terms with WWE on a new contract. "MVP is in #thehurtbusiness for the foreseeable future! NOW... it's official," he wrote. MVP was one of the surprise entrants at the Royal Rumble and was only supposed to make a few appearances before transitioning to a backstage role as a producer. He eventually got moved to in front of cameras again and is now the leader of The Hurt Business with Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin...and who knows, with more to come. This is the 46-year-old's second stint with WWE, having previously worked for the promotion between 2005 and 2010.

Matt Sydal will be returning to Ring of Honor based on a podcast interview on the "ROHStrong Podcast". He was going to be part of an ROH Then vs. Now show that ended up being canceled in March, but that was just a one-shot deal.

Brandon Groom announced he was pulling out of his match against Colt Killbane at the Kansas Wrestling Revolution event on October 10th. The match was scheduled to be for the vacant KWR Television Title. Due to Groom's cancellation, KWR announced he has forfeited his match to Killbane. They said they will make another announcement regarding the title at a later date.

Mid-States Wrestling announced that their August 22nd event in Springfield, MO has been postponed yet again due to the city's guidelines regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. Their announcement said "Due to the continued policies In place by city government, our event in Springfield Missouri scheduled for Sat. August 22nd will again have to be postponed and hopefully be rescheduled for November. We appreciate all of our loyal fans for their great understanding during this crazy time of uncertainty. For current ticket holders, Your tickets will be honored at the next Springfield event. Again we apologize, but this is simply out of our control."

The famous Scott Steiner-owned Shoney's in Acworth, GA has announced via its Facebook page that it is permanently closing, effective immediately. The brief post says it is due to the current COVID-19 pandemic which would imply that the financial hardships of having less customers just became too much. The restaurant itself was your typical Shoney's, however, Steiner had decorated the restaurant in wrestling memorabilia of his own, as well as some pieces he'd gotten from fellow wrestlers.

They defeated Team Boner (Drake Gallows & MLP) for the titles on January 19, 2020 at an event in Bethany. They lost the titles to The Saints of Pro Wrestling (Scott Sanders & Shawn Sanders) on August 6th.

Oklafan congratulates Dexter Hardaway, who had recently surpassed 6 months as ASP 5-Star Champion. He defeated O’Brien and Colby Black in a Triple Threat Match to become the interim champion on January 19, 2020 at an event in Bethany. He lost the title to Thorne the Hunter on July 26th.
