NEWS
Cauliflower Alley Club President & CEO Brian Blair appeared tonight on John Arezzi’s "Mat Memories Facebook Live" show, and addressed the reunion in September, at the Gold Coast Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV. There had been plenty of discussion from members about whether the reunion should even go ahead, given the dangers of the COVID-19 pandemic, traveling and the restrictions — including the size of the reunion itself — in Las Vegas in general, and specifically at the Gold Coast. Blair said that he met with the CAC board (virtually) and many things were discussed. The CAC has a meeting planned with the Gold Coast on July 15th, and Blair said that he is “99.9%” sure that it will be decided to cancel the September reunion altogether and, hopefully, return in April 2021.

Future Stars of Wrestling issued the following press release on June 21st: “This past Saturday, June 13th we held a meeting to address serious allegations made about harassment, bullying and inappropriate behavior. We let everyone know, there is a Zero Tolerance policy in effect. Future Stars of Wrestling will not tolerate harassment, bullying, or mistreatment of any kind, in regards to members of our family & fan-base. We will handle all infractions, the safety of our fans and wrestlers alike will continue to be our top priority. Effective immediately Future Stars of Wrestling will no longer be working with Owen Travers (John Washington) and Kyle Hawk. Suede Thompson (Vance Thornburg) was dismissed from FSW prior to March and is no longer affiliated nor welcome within our company. We are also investigating incidents involving students, that will be addressed. We stand by this statement and support and applaud all victims who have come forward in this time. FSW Management will continue to ensure a safe environment for both our fans and wrestlers.”

WWE NXT Superstar Candice LeRae took to Twitter this afternoon and issued a statement on the sexual misconduct allegations made against her friend and former tag team partner Joey Ryan. "I am mortified," LeRae wrote. "I absolutely DO NOT and never have condoned such horrible actions. "I have zero tolerance for it. To the women he did this to- my heart breaks for you. I trusted this person. Reading the stories and learning how he acted sickens me. Especially because you all trusted him too. I can't imagine how YOU felt. For every woman and man who has been brave enough to speak out, I have nothing but love and respect for you."

Joey Ryan went dark with all his social media accounts after more than a dozen women have come forward accusing him of sexual abuse. Ryan issued a long statement yesterday, not denying what was said about him and somewhat apologized to those who he hurt. But his apology was slammed as not being sincere, especially when he wrote that he worked hard to make wrestling a safer workplace. Over the next few days, two more women came forward with more accusations, one saying that he tried to have sex with her in his hotel after he asked her for a ride back, and a former girlfriend of three years who said he physically assaulted her, choking and slapping her. Meanwhile, SoCalUncensored.com is reporting that the Bootleg Theater, the home of the Bar Wrestling promotion that Ryan started a few years ago, ended their relationship due to the many allegations. Highspots Network also took down the Bar Wrestling video library. Bar Wrestling has reportedly ceased operations with a return seemingly impossible after all that is being said about the founder.

In the description of Monday’s "Being the Elite" video, it was confirmed that they’ve begun the process of taking down videos that featured Joey Ryan: “Hi guys and girls. We hope this video provides an escape, or even maybe makes you laugh during these tough times. We love you all. Out of respect to the victims, we have began the process of taking down BTE videos which featured an accused serial sexual abuser. Our biggest regret is providing a platform unknowingly to such a despicable person. Our hearts go out to the victims and anyone else affected. - From the BTE Team”

On a recent podcast Shelly Martinez gave her thoughts on Joey Ryan. She said “There was a time that I was cool with Joey Ryan. There was a time that he asked my sister out on a date. I think they went out once, and then there was this rumor that he slept with her. I was like, ‘dude, what the hell is wrong with Joey; he did not sleep with her, why is he saying that?’ Then when I confronted him, he denied it. So fast forward, I had some friends that had been involved with Joey, and they shared with me some things. There have been times that I’ve told Joey to his face why I didn’t like him. Even though the things he did to the people I knew that were involved with him, it was never forcing himself on them kind of thing. It was just some other things that truly told me something about his character, or lack thereof. But the common denominator I saw was when he would try to apologize for his actions, his excuses – in particular his divorce – you can’t be using your divorce as an excuse to treat women that way. That’s just not how it works. That’s how I knew immediately what people were saying was 1000% true.” She also gave advice to victims of Joey Ryan: “I really hope that people who have been hurt by him – his lies and deceit – but held on because they felt like they had some kind of special connection with him, I hope they can now see that that’s just part of his schtick, and it wasn’t that deep, so that they can let go of that and move forward and not be affected by his energy anymore.”

The inappropriate behavior and sometimes sick behind-the-scenes culture in the world of professional wrestling did not start over the past couple of years but has been going on for decades. Two legendary women in this business, Missy Hyatt and Madusa, weighed in on the recent #SpeakingOut movement, sharing a couple of horrible stories from their glory days. "How about h-bombing women for laughs?" wrote Hyatt. "I remember being h-bombed and almost passing out at the wheel of the car." H-bomb is Halcion, a central nervous system depressant tranquilizer that is often used to treat insomnia and a drug that was often abused back in the day. "I remember 1 indy valet that got h-bombed and almost got raped by a so called born again wrestler when the intention of the rib was originally to just shave her eyebrows," Hyatt continued. Madusa, the former WWE Superstar known as Alundra Blayze, also shared a similar H-bomb story herself. "I remember coming out of my hotel room and seeing a naked girl with her eyebrows shaved only with cowboy boots on passed the f*ck out," she replied to Hyatt's tweet. "I reported it to the front desk and asked to call the cops. Let’s just say SOME male WRESTLERS thought it was cute to H-bomb or sh*t in food."

Sammy Guevara, who was suspended by All Elite Wrestling for what he said during a podcast in 2016, uploaded a video to once again apologize to Sasha Banks and anyone who he might have hurt. Sammy said that he will be taking a break from social media as he undergoes sensitivity training as part of his suspension from AEW. “2016 me is not me today. 2020 me would never say those kinda hurtful things that I said in 2016,” Guevara said, adding that back then he thought it was funny to use shock humor to just pop the room. A lot has happened in four years he said and learned along the way and he has grown as a person. “I understand now that things I say now will impact people. You will not catch me saying those things now in 2020,” Guevara continued, adding that it’s still no excuse because he said those things and will still pay for what he said. “Whenever I do come back, I will do better, I will be a better version of myself,” he concluded, before once again apologizing to Banks.

Sammy Guevara publicly apologized Monday for his rape comment, a comment which he said during a podcast a few years ago where he described wanting to “f*cking rape” Sasha Banks during his WWE trial. “I’ve made stupid, inappropriate and extremely offensive comments in my past. In my idiotic mind, I thought I was being funny in using words and terms that represent nothing but horror and pain,” he wrote. “I am truly sorry for my hurtful words and actions, and I will never forgive myself.” “I also want to apologize to @sashabankswwe for my unacceptable comments. She’s an amazing person who didn’t deserve to be the brunt of my offensive remarks,” he continued. “I spoke with her earlier & she helped me learn a gigantic lesson & I thank her for that. Once again, I’m sincerely sorry.” His comment received extra attention now due to the #SpeakingOut movement which has outed tons of wrestlers from all corners of the globe for domestic violence, bullying, sexual abuse, and assault. Sasha Banks also posted on Twitter noting that she talked to Sammy and had an open discussion about the subject, saying such words, as a joke or not, have no place in our society. “We have to hold ourselves accountable for our actions and the words we say, I hope this situation shows him that,” Banks wrote, signing the statement with her real name.

There was some good natured fun from Sasha Banks upon hearing the quarter hour ratings for she and Bayley vs. Shotzi Blackheart & Tegan Nox on NXT had more viewers than AEW's Le Sex Gods (Sammy Guevara & Chris Jericho) vs. Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent) on Wednesday. The NXT match had 757,000 viewers to AEW's 705,000. Jericho responded that is the key 18-49 demographic, AEW soundly defeated NXT 374,000 to 264,000. The 18-49 demographic is what really counts in television.

John Powell of SLAM! Wrestling wrote a story a story about Sammy Guevara entitled "Mother thanks Guevara for saving daughter's life, which you can read by clicking here.

Jeff Jarrett, Dana Brooke, Ron Killings (R-Truth), The Usos (Jimmy Uso & Jey Uso), Wesley Blake, Jeff Hardy, and others did a Round Table Discussion Monday night at during RAW with a live stream to benefit the leukemia and lymphoma society. Fans were encouraged to donate during the stream.

Ric Flair has shared news that the producers of a television series are looking to work with Charlotte Flair. He said on the Wrestling Inc. Daily podcast: “I know she has a TV series looking at her and she’s got fitness people wanting to do work with her,” said Flair. “I hope that she takes as long as she wants off so that all these people that can fill her shoes and do that every night have the opportunity and God bless that thought.” You can listen to the entire interview by clicking here.

It’s not for the faint at heart nor suitable for work, but Jim Cornette dropped a new "Jim Cornette’s Drive-Thru". He addresses recent allegations made about the conduct of he and his wife while in Ohio Valley Wrestling. Host Brian Last does his best to keep Cornette on track. Impact Wrestling has stripped World Champion Tessa Blanchard of the title and terminated her contract. She has been in Mexico since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and was supposed to see vignettes of her return but she failed to do so. Tessa is the granddaughter of former pro wrestler Joe Blanchard, the daughter of former pro wrestler Tully Blanchard, and the stepdaughter of former pro wrestler Magnum T. A.

On a video posted on his Facebook page, Ryan Davidson said he has been diagnosed with COVID-19. He said he does not have a cough, shortness of breath, headaches, or tightness in the chest but he had come in close contact with someone that had the virus. He was tested twice and both tests came back positive. Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.
