-Before he made his debut in WWF, he was seen in vignettes, sometimes holding a live sewer rat. The rat belonged to Jim Cornette.
-While competing as Mankind, Foley began using the Mandible Claw as his finisher. This move was invented by Dr. Sam Sheppard, who briefly had a career as a wrestler. The TV show and movie "The Fugitive" is loosely based on Sheppard's life.
-As Dude Love, he used Sweet Shin Music as one of his signature moves to set up his Double Underhook DDT finisher.
-In 1997 while competing as Dude Love, his wife Collette worked a show as one of his "Dudettes". A few months later, his 4 year old daughter Noelle did the same.

-Appeared as Cactus Jack, Mankind, and Dude Love at the 1998 Royal Rumble, the only time in which one performer appeared in the same Rumble under multiple gimmicks.
-During the latter years, Foley used a sock puppet called Mr. Socko to deliver the Mandible Claw. Mr. Socko was introduced to WWF fans in a vignette with Vince McMahon at the hospital.
