Other Facts: -Billed as the cousin of pro wrestler Brady Boone
-Former husband of valet Jeannie Clark. The reason for this marriage was to allow her to continue to work in the U. S.
-Has repeatedly claimed that he might be the son of Vince McMahon, Sr. This has never been proven and is generally considered to be an unsubstantiated claim.
-Claimed to be trained by Stu Hart, but in reality, Stu kicked Billy out of the Dungeon because Billy beat up most of Stu's trainees
-Sometimes billed from Tuscon, AZ
-Started out as just plain "Billy Jack" until Tom Laughlin, who made & starred in the Billy Jack movies, threatened to sue.
-Had a reputation for going out of his way to be non-confrontational and not sticking around in a territory for very long (except for Portland). He is said to have a very weak handshake and not one to raise his voice in his prime. This may have had something to do with a hair-trigger temper as there was a rumor that he once knocked a man out with his bare hand, killing him.
-Left the NWA after a confrontation with Jim Crockett in his office that became physical.
-Did commercials in Portland, mainly for Tan Down Under tanning salons
-Claims to have been involved in some capacity with the "Boys on the Track" case where two comatose teenagers were run over by a train in Little Rock, AR. No actual evidence has been brought forth to prove this and this remains an unsubstantiated claim.
-In early 2006, Haynes ended up in a hospital when he was attacked outside a body shop in Portland, OR. This was due to Haynes' skimming off the top while being a mule in a marijuana smuggling operation some years ago. Unbeknownst to him, he was actually smuggling cocaine and not marijuana. Haynes himself admitted the motivation behind the attack on this person since the statute of limitations on the laws he broke had run out.
-Lived with Rip Oliver for the final months of Oliver's life and he allegedly stole medication from Oliver. There are also many who accuse him of contacting Brian Blair, who ran the Cauliflower Alley Club, and claiming that Oliver was at risk of losing his home due to back taxes (which was not true). According to those claims, and statements from Haynes, the CAC raised enough money to pay those back taxes and address some other financial "needs" that Oliver had. According to Oliver's son Larry, Haynes took half of that money himself and gave Oliver the other half, essentially defrauding the CAC. Haynes denies these accusations.
-Arrested February 11, 2024 after a standoff with the police. He was charged with the murder of his 85 year-old wife, who had dementia.
-Former member of The Clan
-Was voted Most Improved Wrestler by the readers of Pro Wrestling Illustrated in 1984
-Ranked #97 in the 1991 PWI 500
-Ranked #78 in the 1995 PWI 500
