-Competed as a middleweight in Men's Freestyle Wrestling at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He was the first Olympian from the University of Texas.
-Was the first person to promote wrestling in Galveston, TX after it was legalized
-Passed away on May 5, 1966
-Posthumously inducted into the University of Texas' Longhorn Hall of Honor in 1992
