-Played football and wrestled while attending the University of Oklahoma
-During a match in Galveston, TX in 1936, spectators stormed the ring to attack Bashara. When the police entered the ring, they did not stop the beating of Bashara. Instead, they held Bashara's arms behind his back, allowing the spectators to continue their assault and smash five chairs over Bashara's head. He suffered a fractured skull and a broken nose. Bashara never commented on if the police officers in the fracas were punished in any way.
-Competed for a time under a mask as Purple Flash until he lost his mask in a match against Milo Steinborn on March 18, 1940
-Passed away on May 27, 1960
