Bios
Rick Hazzard
Aliases: Rick Branch, The Terminator
Feds Worked For: WCCW, NWA, Continental Wrestling Federation (TN), Jim Crockett Promotions (GA/NC/SC), Pacific Northwest Wrestling
Career Highlights: -PNW Pacific Northwest Tag Team Champion (w/ The Grappler)
Other Facts: -Referee for WCCW
-Also wrestled occasionally as both Ricky Branch and Rick Hazzard
-Competed for a time as The Terminator. He is not to be confused with the brother of Road Warrior Animal and John Laurinitis, who also competed under this name in the mid-1980s.
-During a tour with New Japan, he, along with Scott Hall and Kevin Von Erich, went out after the matches and got drunk on Sake. They urinated in an alley on the side of a building and the Yakuza (Japanese Mafia) took offense. They followed the trio back to the hotel where they attacked Hazzard. He was cut on his face and stabbed 17 times, but missing major arteries. He was sent home from the tour.
-According to Gary Hart's autobiography, Hazzard was listed as dead in 2009. That was proven wrong over 10 years later by writer Terry Kent, who found Hazzard, under his real name, on Facebook.
-After the Grappler left WCCW, Rick (because he had been so close to the Grappler and wrestled with him) sometimes worked under the mask as the Grappler in WCCW and Continental.
-Was once stabbed 17 times in the face while in Japan. He, Scott Hall & Kevin Von Erich had relieved themselves on the outside wall of a restaurant and was seen doing so by the Yakuza. They felt this was disrespectful and followed the group back their room. Upon arriving back in Dallas, Fritz Von Erich unleashed a tirade at him (ignoring his obvious injuries) saying that if he had been looking out for Kevin better, none of this would have happened. He showed no compassion for Rick's injuries.
