  1. Karbo won a 100-Man Tournament that took place in Los Angeles, CA and Phoenix, AZ to become the inaugural champion sometime around June 13, 1969.
  2. The title was held up October 13, 1971 after a match with Dusty Rhodes. Watts def. Rhodes for the held up title.
  3. TSW declared the title vacant when Watts left the area. But Watts continued to defend the title in Georgia & Florida. He would lose it to Buddy Colt on May 4, 1974. Bob Armstrong then defeated Colt for the title on June 8, 1974. Colt reclaimed the title sometime in February of 1975. The title was awarded back to Watts when Colt's career is ended in a plane crash on February 21, 1975. Morgan def. Dewey Robertson in a tournament final for the vacant title.
  4. This match unifies the Tri-State version of the title with the one held by Watts from his tenure in Georgia & Florida.
  5. Began claiming the title after substituting for The Spoiler. The Brute def. The Spoiler to end the dispute in December 1976.
  6. Von Erich entered the match as The Great Zimm, but unmasked himself after defeating DiBiase
  7. The title was held up following a match between Hansen and Dick Murdoch on June 13, 1977. Watts def. Hansen for the held up title in a match officiated by special referee Pat O'Connor.
  8. Ladd is awarded the title when Orndorff is stripped of the title for reasons unknown at this time.
  9. Ladd forfeited the match and the title to Candy.
  10. Ladd wins the title by default after Candy is injured as a result of the brawl between Ladd & Ron Bass and Candy & Killer Karl Kox.
  11. The title became the Mid-South Wrestling North American Heavyweight Title in August 1979. TSW closes in March of 1982.

  1. Madrid & Tillet were NWA Southwest Tag Team Champions when TSW began recognizing the titles and the name was changed to the United States Tag Team Titles. They had defeated Alex Perez & Gory Guerrero for the titles on March 29, 1962.
  2. Hodge & Lothario vacate the titles in November 1962 when Lothario leaves TSW. The Bolos are billed as champions after defeating Jan Madrid & Louis Tillet in Texas the previous winter according to the September 2, 1963 issue of the Tulsa World.
  3. The Bolos vacate the titles in November 1963 when The Mighty Bolo leaves TSW. There are no records of any champions from when The Bolos vacated and The Daltons won the titles. There are also no records of who The Daltons defeated for the titles. The Daltons started wrestling as The Fargos in October 1965 with Jim as Jim Fargo as Jack as Don Fargo.
  4. The Fargos vacate the titles in October 1965 when they leave TSW. They continue to be recognized as champions in Louisiana as late as February 1966 however. The Assassins def. Danny Hodge & Tiny Smith in a tournament final for the vacant titles.
  5. Calhoun & Brisco vacate the titles sometime after February 3, 1967 for reasons not known at this time. The Assassins def. Krusher Karlson & Skandar Akbar for the vacant titles.
  6. Titles held up after a match against The Red Raiders (Dick Dunn & Billy Garrett) on April 10, 1967 in Tulsa and on April 14, 1967 in Oklahoma City. The Assassins def. The Red Raiders in a rematch for the held up titles.
  7. This title win was repeated on May 6, 1969 in Little Rock, AR or Von Stroheim & Phillips may have regained the titles in between.
  8. The Medics continue to be recognized in Missouri until December 10, 1969 when Karlson & Baxter defeat them again for the titles.
  9. Brown & Savage vacate the titles in April 1970 when Savage leaves TSW. The Blondes def. Bill Watts & Danny Hodge in a tournament final for the vacant titles.
  10. Titles held up July 9, 1970, after a match between the Blondes and Bill Watts & Billy Red Lyons. The Blondes win the rematch for the held up titles.
  11. Titles held up January 30, 1971 following a match between Von Erich & Von Brauner and Watts & Lyons. Von Erich & Von Brauner attack Watts & Lyons before the rematch on February 16, 1971. The Kentuckians then substitute for Watts & Lyons against Von Erich & Von Brauner and win. A 3-Team Tournament is ordered with Von Erich & Von Brauner, The Kentuckians, and The Spoiler & Les Wolff. The Kentuckians win the titles by forfeit when the other 2 teams were detained in Wichita, KS by a snowstorm.
  12. Jones & Mantell's title win over The Continental Warriors was disputed and the Warriors were still recognized as champions in some cities. The title history becomes further disputed when Terry Garvin [1st] & Duke Myers def. Jones & Mantell in controversial fashion on August 28, 1972. A 3-Team Round Robin Tournament was ordered and Garvin & Myers def. The Continental Warriors and Jones & Mantell in the tournament for the titles.
  13. Kox & Murdoch vacate the titles in December 1975 when they split as a team. Valentine & Watts def. The Hollywood Blondes (Jerry Brown & Dale Valentine) for the vacant titles.
  14. Watts is injured and Valentine chooses George as his new partner.
  15. Kox and Sweetan have a falling out and split as a team. Kox & Patera def. Sweetan & Randy Tyler for control of the titles.
  16. During this reign, Medic #3 was introduced as became part of the championship team
  17. X and Cash had a falling out and split as a team. X def. Cash for control of the titles. X did not pick a permanent partner, defending the titles with different partners: Ciclon Negro, Swede Hanson, Skandar Akbar, and The Brute.
  18. Titles declared vacant after a controversial match between George & Tyler and Jerry Brown & Bobby Jaggers. Rhodes & Andre won a 10-team tournament for the vacant titles.
  19. Rhodes chooses Spoiler as Andre's replacement.
  20. Spoiler turns on Rhodes during the match.
  21. Watts & Robley vacate the titles August 17, 1979 when Robley is injured by Angelo Mosca. Shikina & Harris def. The Von Erichs (Kevin Von Erich & David Von Erich) for the vacant titles.
  22. Titles vacated when Eddie leaves TSW in April 1980. The Gilberts are the last champions as the titles are replaced with the TSW Tag Team Titles.

  4. Gilbert & Morton vacate the titles in August 1981 when Gilbert loses a Loser Leaves Town Match to Ed Wiskoski. There are no records at this time indicating how Tthe Deatons came in to possession of the titles.
  5. Titles vacated when Cash & Somers split as a team. Bey & Toro won the vacant titles by winning a tournament.It is uncertain if they are the last champions or not. TSW closes in 1982.

  1. The Louisiana Title was originally promoted by the Gulf Coast Championship Wrestling company. They stopped promoting in the state in 1968. Duffy is probably not the first champion under the Tri-State ownership, but is the earliest that documentation indicates.
  2. How Don Duffy lost the title is unclear. Most likely there were champions after him but there is no documentation pertaining to them. At some point the title becomes vacant and The Assassin wins a tournament for the vacant title.

  2. Kovacs & Angelo vacate the titles on May 5, 1959 due to an injury to Angelo. Collins & Scarbo def. Frankie Kovacs & Al Massey for the vacant titles. Kovacs & Massey may have won the titles on May 29, 1959 in Lafayette, LA but Collins & Scarbo continue to be recognized as champions in Shreveport, LA and Alexandria, LA.
  3. Kovacs & Miller win the titles by default when Collins & Scarbo fail to appear for the scheduled title defense.
  4. Sharpe & Panther vacate the titles in October 1959. The reasons they vacated and how Baillargeon & Jiminez came to be champions are unknown at this time.
  5. Baillargeon & Tony Jiminez break up as a team during as title defense on March 22, 1960. There are no records at this time on how Tony & Jesse became champions.
  6. Tony & Jesse vacate the titles in January 1961 for reasons unknown at this time. According to records, the title were inactive until December 1964 when Garvin & Lee won a tournament for them. The opponents they defeated for the vacant titles is unknown at this times as well.
  7. Lee & Bobby began being billed as champions in Baton Rouge, LA starting on October 23, 1965. It is not known at this time how they became champions.
  8. According to records, Lee & Bobby were still recognized as champions as of November 6, 1965, However, current records also show that the titles were inactive until Little Bear & Fox def. The Hines Brothers (Bad Boy Hines & Billy Hines) in a tournament final for the vacant titles.
  9. The titles were held up July 5, 1968 following a match between Little Bear & Fox and The Daltons. The Daltons wn the held up titles in the rematch.
  10. Miller & Osborne were still recognized as champions as of May 27, 1969. However, records show that the titles were inactive until Little Bear & Candy won a tournament for the vacant titles on March 24, 1978. The opponents they defeated for the vacant titles are unknown at this time.
  11. Titles held up August 8, 1978 following a match between Little Bear & Candy and Seigfried Stanke & Kurt Von Hess. Little Bear & Candy won the held up titles in a rematch.
  12. The Assassins vacate the titles when Assassin #2 leaves TSW. Assassin #1 renames himself The Assassin and he and Angel def. Terry Latham & Ricky Fields for the vacant titles.
  13. Titles vacated when Watts is injured and leaves TSW in August 1979. The titles remained inactive until TSW closes in March 1982.

  1. Montez def. Joe Deston to become champion. It doesn't appear that Deston was champion at the time or that this was a tournament.
  2. There is a huge gap of information between Montez's reign and Karbo's. How Montez lost the belt and how Karbo won it are unknown. Karbo became champion sometime after June 26, 1970, but a more specific date is unavailable at this time.
  3. There is a gap of information between Karbo's reign and Miller's. Who Karbo lost to and how Miller won from are unknown. Miller became champion sometime after March 22, 1971.
  4. No information is available regarding when or how Jerry Miller lost the title. Much of the title history is missing between Miller's reign and Black's reign, which began sometime prior to July 22, 1974
  5. No information is available regarding when or how John Black lost the title. There does appear to be a period of time when the title is inactive. Ladd won a tournament for the revived title.
  6. Cook vacates the title after suffering an injury. The title is retired after that point.

  2. There is a huge gap of information on this title between Von Erich's reign and Stubbs'. How Von Erich lost the belt is unknown. Stubbs won a tournament for the title.

  8. Hodge vacated the title when he won the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Title on July 22, 1960. The title was dormant until 1964. Krauser def. Tony Manos in a tournament final for the vacant title.
  9. Title declared vacant on September 10, 1964 when Krauser passes away. Hodge def. Lon Stewart in a tournament final for the vacant title.
  10. Hodge vacated the title sometime in early 1965 for reasons unknown at this time. McKim def. Treach Phillips in a tournament final for the vacant title.
  11. Title held up after a match between Brisco and Don Kent. Brisco wins the held up title in a rematch with Kent.
