Russo def. Brock Landers and Buster Cherry in a Triple Threat match to become the inaugural champion. EmpCW shut down October 22, 2016. Russo was recognized as champion when EmpCW began running shows again on August 25, 2018. Sadat def. Rick Russo in a Hardcore Street Fight to become inaugural champion at a BCW event on May 2, 2015. The Independent Hardcore Title was originally announced as being recognized by both BCW and EmpCW, but the EmpCW reign is recognised as beginning on November 21, 2015 as that is the date of the first EmpCW event. Technically Cherry def. Sadat for the title in a Triple Threat Match that also included Rick Garrett but Garrett was injured early in the match was helped to the locker room and did not finish the match. This also de-unified this title from BCW. Sadat def. Cherry for the title in a Nuclear Warfare Match Sadat def. Lambert for the title in a Triple Threat Match that also involved Mr. Barnes
