According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, War Machine (Hanson & Raymond Rowe) have signed WWE contracts and are expected to be at the WWE Performance Center by the end of the month.

The WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2018 is rumored to include Goldberg, The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray Dudley & D-Von Dudley), Ivory, and Bam Bam Bigelow. Kid Rock is rumored to be inducted into the Celebrity Wing.

The task of keeping the WWE Championship past "Royal Rumble" just got a little bit tougher for A. J. Styles as he will be defending the title against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in a Handicap Match on the pay-per-view. The match came after Styles lost his non-title match against Sami Zayn on "SmackDown Live" on January 2nd thanks mostly to several interferences from Owens, Shane McMahon, and Daniel Bryan who were all at ringside. On December 26th, Styles lost a non-title match against Owens as well. It was Styles who demanded the Handicap Match against the best friends at the "Royal Rumble" and urged the SmackDown GM and Commissioner to stop acting like little kids. Bryan then made the match official after liking the idea. If Styles successfully defends the WWE Championship at WWE's "Royal Rumble", he will defend the title against Randy Orton, Shinsuke Nakamura, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn in a Fatal 5-Way Match at "Fastlane" in Columbus, OH on March 11th.

Last week, the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies held a wrestling night during their game against the Washington Wizards with a ring set up on a platform next to the bleachers inside the FedEx Forum. Jerry “The King” Lawler stepped in the ring to take on Jeff Jarrett, who is back doing his thing after exiting a two-month rehab stay just before Christmas. Jarrett won the exhibition match after hitting Lawler with a guitar shot to the back, winning the Grizzlyweight Championship Title. After the match, Jarrett said he wants to defend the title again before he goes back to Nashville and out came former NFL player and Impact star DeAngelo Williams with Grizzlies’ mascot Super Grizz, who accepted the challenge. Super Grizz then pinned Jarrett to win the belt. Before the entertainment started, the Grizzlies paid tribute to Memphis Wrestling commentator Lance Russell who passed away earlier last year.

Johnny Impact said on last week's Impact Wrestling media call that he is not wrestling on the Asistencia Asesoría y Administración event on January 26th that he is being advertised for and he blames Vampiro for the situation.

Bruce Prichard's "Something to Wrestle" podcast received a major honor by being named "Sports Podcast of the Year" by Sports Illustrated, beating out ESPN's 30 For 30 podcast, among other heavyweights. A three-plus hour episode on Roddy Piper was noted as the best sports podcast of 2017.

With Sid Vicious not showing up for his scheduled booking for Absolute Intense Wrestling in Cleveland, OH on December 29th, Ethan Carter III dressed as "E Justice 3" and Gregory Iron dressed up as "Gregory Vicious" at the show. EC3 also autographed some of the pictures of Sid that the promotion had.
