Becky Lynch Panel Recap From Wizard World Tulsa

Becky Lynch Panel Recap From Wizard World Tulsa

Posted: Oct 21st 2016 By: CMBurnham

Becky says she is happy to be in Tulsa. Home of one of her favourite bands: Hanson. As a kid, her walls were filled with Hanson posters. Made a Hanson box.

Q: Women are main eventing RAW and Sasha Banks and Charlotte about to make history in Hell in a Cell. What would Becky do to advance women on Smackdown? Becky says she could main event WrestleMania. Consistency proves things. Charlotte and Sasha deserve what they have. They have established characters. Smackdown in newer. All newer characters or new wrestlers. They will take more time, but eventually they will main event.

Q: Who is her favourite tag team? Becky says that is a hard question. There have never been better tag teams. American Alphas might be her choice. So are the Revival. She loves them and their character work. Jordan and Gable have an amazing chemistry.

Q: Which Diva are you closest with? Charlotte is her best friend. She used to ride, train and eat toether. Charlotte loves food as much as Becky. Getting to work together was incredible.

Q: Who is the funniest person on the roster? Becky says Bayley is hilarious. So funny and quick. She as trouble with naming a guy, but settles on Big E.

Q: What was the injury that took her off the recent No Mercy PPV? Becky says she had something removed. She got better in just a few days, but they wanted to hold her off the road a little longer. She just wants to get back on the road.

Q: What is a snack she likes the most? Currently, Becky is a rice cake enthusiast. And while they are not the best for her, she loves the ones with chocolate on them. She also likes oatmeal and bananas.

Q: Is it hard to eat the stuff you want to eat on the road? Becky says it is not a problem to eat clean. Lettuce is just a flavour absorber. Healthy options are available everywhere. Her only problem is getting full.

Q: With women getting higher profile matches, which type would she be most interested in doing? Becky might be interested in doing a Tables match.

Q: What has been her favourte match and what is her dream match? Her favourite match was the WrestleMania Triple Threat Match. Her dream match would be a Fatal 4-Way with the Four Horsewomen.

Q: If the WWE established a Womens Tag Team Division, who would she want to compete with and against? She does not want to team with Charlotte because she wants to face her. She wants to team with either Bayley or Asuka. She picks Asuka because she decides she also wants to face Bayley. She would also like to face Charlotte and Nia Jax.

Q: Mickie James is coming back to face Asuka. Who would she like to see come back? Becky says Lita. When Becky was 12 or 13 watching WWE, she could look at Trish Stratus, but could not relate to her. Lita was spunky and a tomboy. Becky was a big tomboy and did not play with Barbies. She tells a story about how she and her friend would play Billy Joel albums and pretend they were his sons. She also says that Jazz was a favourite of hers.

Q: How into Steampunk is she? Becky says she loves it. One problem is that it can get very impractical to work in. Se loves the quirkiness of the personalities that gravitate to it.

Q: What makes the Smackdown brand better? Becky says everything is fresher. RAW has the same matches over and over again. There will be some really good matches on RAW one week and the same matches will happen again the next week. Smackdown always has something new. The talent is hungry and passionate. They have not gotten the opportunities. The competitors on RAW have been seen on RAW before. People on Smackdown are getting new opportunities.

Q: The best part of the Smackdown Womens division is that the talent is so evenly matched. Is there someone she is specifically looking to feud with after Alexa Bliss? Becky says she would love to feud with any of them. She specifically names Natalya, Nikki Bella, Eva Marie and Carmella. She points out how on Smackdown you never know who is going to win and mentions the recent situation with James Ellsworth. She then points out how she wore a James Ellsworth t-shirt in a picture on her Instagram recently.

Q: Talking Smack is great. How does she feel about it? Becky says she loves it. Daniel Bryan is just amazing. His one liners are great. He is honest and truthful. Everyone there is saying what people are thinking.

Q: Weirdest fan interaction? Becky says there was someone who tried to break into a place to see her and she had to get a restraining order.

Q: How is it travelling with the title belt? Becky told a story about how she got stopped in Philadelphia because she allegedly tested for something explosive in her bag. She was told she had to wait until a specialist came to check things out, but this specialist just happened to be a big wrestling fan. The thing that bugged her the most about the situation was that she was afraid she would miss her flight.

Q: Regarding her accent, are there certain words that she does not use in promos? She says the thing she is told the most is to slow down when talking. She gets worked up and speaks really fast and is told that the average American fan might not be able to understand her. She said she tries not to say words she normally would not use because she feels that can be picked up on. She has to make it real to her.

Q: Is wrestling different in Ireland? Becky says European style is different. It is more technical, but is not done in rounds anymore. Becky says that rounds might make for an interesting gimmick match. She said it was not hard to adjust to an American style, but it was hard to come back after not wrestling for seven years. She had to find herself again and it was almost like starting from scratch. She was riddled with guilt for leaving something she was so passionate about again.

Q: The WWE Universe loves her for being real. Has there been a time where the writing has been something she was not comfortable with? Becky says that happened several times, but the writing team wants it to be true. She has to be smart about which battles she picks, but the writers will work with her.

Q: There have been mixed reviews about the WWE Universal Title design. What are her opinions? Becky says she thinks Seth Rollins put it perfectly: It is not about the belt, but about the two people fighting for it. She bets Eva Marie loves it.

Q: What is her opinion of all the belts resembling each other? Becky says it makes you know what a WWE belt looks like.

Q: There was a funny episode of Up Up Down Down were she rattled puns with Xavier Woods, but one story she shared was how she used to pick up chewing gum off the street because she was not allowed to have it growing up. When did she stop that? Becky says she is not sure. But all her friends did it. She might have stopped when she got a stone in it once.

Q: Why did she change her name from Rebecca Quinn to Becky Lynch? Becky says she loved the Rebecca Quinn name, mostly because she could make a lot of puns out of Quinn. Now they are more lenient about it, but when she came in, they were stricter about making names they could own.

Q: What is she going to dress up as for Halloween? Siren from X-Men

Q: Would she like to be part of the List of Jericho? Becky is not sure because we have not found out what happens to people on the list.

Q: Does she like to wrestle? Becky says she loves it. It is the most fun thing. Next to wrestling, she loves eating.

Q: Charlotte has her dad and Natalya has cousins in Owen & Bret Hart. Who was her influence? Becky says her brother was a major influence. Other favourites include The Dynamite Kid, Shawn Michaels, Eddie Guerrero, Fit Finlay and Dean Malenko

Q: What are her opinions on Independent Wrestling: Becky says Indy wrestling is the most important thing and the most important resource the business has. It is where you develop and learn with the most important freedom. You can own your character without too many people putting their hands in the pie. You have to struggle. The paydays and travel are hard, but that helps you grow. She compares it to the movie Rocky. The more you struggle, the more you appreciate it.

Q: What are her opinions on the recent rumours of WWE buying TNA? Becky says they would get the tape library, which would be nice, but it is good to have competition and other places to work.

Q: How much does she travel? Becky says she travels five days a week and in her time off, she likes to travel as well. She is a bit of a gypsy and wonders why she even as an apartment. It might be more practical to have an RV.
