ComPro Tag Team Champions To Run Gauntlet At 10th Anniversary Event

ComPro Tag Team Champions To Run Gauntlet At 10th Anniversary Event

Posted: Aug 17th 2016 By: Michael Hunt

Current ComPro Tag Team Champions Dynamic Shields have had what many would consider a successful and certainly interesting summer. While never ones to cater to the crowd, their accomplishments cannot be understated. But in their own minds, they have now conquered all the mountains that ComPro presents.

The rise of Justin Dynamic and Shawn Shields actually began on May 13th when they lost the ComPro Tag Team Titles to Terry Montana and Mighty Mouse. One week later, they lost a match to WFC Tag Team Champions The Pen Palz. This seems to have put Dynamic Shields in something of a panic mode as they were absent from the next two ComPro events, but, together with their manager Jon Pfanz, they were wasting no time. On June 17th, Dynamic Shields returned at ringside during a match between The Swamp Men and the Compro Tag Team Champions and their unexpected appearance provided enough of a distraction that the Swamp Men were able to pick up a non-title win.

That victory earned the Swamp Men a ComPro Tag Team Title opportunity the next week, but things seemed odd when that match opened the June 24th event. Amphibian and Reptile are mysterious competitors to begin with, but they seemed different, somewhat heavier. And their typical moveset was also adjusted. In what, on the surface, had to be considered an upset, the Swamp Men beat Montana and Mouse for the titles, then unmasked, revealing themselves to be Dynamic Shields.

One week later, ComPro Co-Comissioner Mike Iles outlined what he believed to be a resolution to the problem. Since Dynamic Shields was not supposed to be in the match, they could not be the ComPro Tag Team Champions and were stripped of the titles. But, as former tag team champions, they had a rematch clause that they had never used. The Swamp Men still had their title opportunity since they had never actually received their match. So Iles ordered a Triple Treat Match between those two teams and Terry Montana & Mighty Mouse. But even that plan did not work the way Iles expected as both members of the Swamp Men were pinned simultaneously one member of each opposing team. So with no clear victor, the titles remained held up.

On July 15th , a final match was held between Dynamic Shields and Terry Montana & Mighty Mouse and this time, the winners were Dynamic Shields, who became 3-time ComPro Tag Team Champions. The following week, they polished off the Mid-South Express. So with victories over three top tag teams in ComPro and no other immediate challengers, the ComPro Tag Team Champions looked to be kings of a realm that provided no challengers for them.

That was exactly the point that Jon Pfanz made when Dynamic Shields interrupted Daemon Storm at the ComPro event last Friday. Pfanz spoke on behalf of his clients and indicated that he was unhappy with the lack of competition, but understood that there was simply no one left. This comment brought out ComPro Co-Commissioner C. M. Burnham. Once again, Pfanz expressed unhappiness with the lack of competition and the FACT that Dynamic Shields were not currently booked for the 10th Anniversary event on August 26th. Pfanz even went so far as to threaten to sue ComPro if things did not change.

Even with outlandish actions like that, Burnham remained calm under pressure. He told Pfanz that there was indeed competition for Dynamic Shields and that they WOULD be competing at the 10th Anniversary event. But they would not be competing against just one team. They would not be competing against two. In FACT, Burnham was not sure exactly how many teams they would be competing against, but if they wanted to retain their ComPro Tag Team Titles, they would have to win a Gauntlet Match and defeat EVERY opponent standing in their way!

The question now on the minds of many ComPro fans is: Who will the opponents for Dynamic Shields be? Will there be former tag teams returning to ComPro for this special occasion? Could we see brand new tag teams entered into this event? Obviously Dynamic Shields as to be wondering about this as well. But come August 26th, those questions will be answered. And Justin Dynamic and Shawn Shields may not like the answers they receive.
