WWE: Former star Black Bart suffers complications during heart surgery

Posted: Jan 26th 2015 By: GiveMeSport.com

Former WWF wrestler Black Bart is suffering from severe complications following heart surgery, according to reports from F4wonline.com.

Bart - whose real name is either Ricky Lee Jones or Rick Harris - starred on the wrestling scene between the years of 1975 and 2002 and he was involved in a multiple number of top wrestling organizations during his career.

Bart appeared in the World Wrestling Federation, now the WWE, in 1989 where faced off against the likes of Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Superfly Jimmy Snuka, who were real stars of the company at the time.

Bart has been unwell for some time, and his wife posted an update on his condition earlier yesterday and unfortunately the signs didn't seem good for the 66-year old.

"Well the procedure revealed that Bart has several blockages. They are 90% blocked. He will be having quadruple bypass plus 1. They could not do it today because of the dye they used for today's procedure," Bart's wife said.

"I know there will be several questions but right now I am still working on it so I do not have a lot of answers yet. Just wanted to post the update since I said I would. We did meet the surgeon while we were at the hospital and he wants to get to Bart asap," she added.

We at GiveMeSport have written about Bart at the tail end of last year, where it was revealed that he was the wrestler that was originally offered the gimmick of 'The Undertaker'.

Bart suggested that during his time in WCW, he was offered the gimmick by Dusty Rhodes which was made legendary by Mark Calloway. The former superstar has insisted that, despite accepting the role, he was released by the company before being handed the opportunity to shine, giving Calloway his chance. How different things could have been.
