WWE: Wrestling legend threatens to sue WWE

WWE: Wrestling legend threatens to sue WWE

Posted: Sep 28th 2014 By: GiveMeSport.com

Wrestling legend The Honky Tonk Man issued a series of brutal tweets towards the WWE on Monday as he went about threatening Vince McMahon and WWE.

McMahon and his wrestling entertainment company could face legal action from the former superstar, with The Honky Tonk Man claiming that WWE are stopping the former wrestler from using his wrestling name.

Threatening tweets

This led The Honky Tonk Man down a road which resulted in him cracking and spewing out all of his frustrations on social media on Monday, with a series of threatening tweets aimed at WWE.

"HTM says to @WWE one more time WWE tries to stop HTM from using the HTM name. HTM will go to the pay window in US Federal Court,? the former superstar tweeted on Monday.

"HTM says to all HTM followers, HTM owns the HTM name,@WWE it is in my release from the @WWE contract and in the HTM nostalgia @WWEcontract."

Court battle

The WWE legend went even further and stated that the wrestling company is out of order for making him and his family starve. He stated that sooner or later he will sue the company if they keep it up.

"HTM says he will never surrender to @WWE a public traded company who uses Philistine tactics on HTM to try to starve his family #FREEHTM,? he added.

?HTM begs @WWE to sue HTM over ownership of HTM name. Please fans tweet @WWE to sue HTM over HTM name,,Please @WWE sue HTM before HTM sues u.?

Not the first time

This is not the first time that WWE has faced legal actions this year. This summer, Alberto Del Rio was fired from WWE after he slapped an employee of the company. It is understood though that Del Rio was racially abused and that is why he responded to the employee, Cody Barbierri, in such a way.

WWE put a non-compete clause into his release from the company, but Del Rio eventually managed to get the clause taken out of his release agreement after a court battle.

He has since began wrestling in Mexico?s AAA after the court win, and WWE won?t want a repeat of this bad publicity if and when The Honky Tonk Man decides to take McMahon and WWE to court as well.
