Family Reunion! Vinnie Camacho Betrays Greehorns, Joins Cousins

Family Reunion! Vinnie Camacho Betrays Greehorns, Joins Cousins

Sometimes family members are not close. In the ranks of pro wrestling, brothers are just as frequently across the ring from each other as they are tagging together. The tales of the wars between Anarchy 2nd & Fuel are just as violent as the wars between Owen and Bret Hart. And if you have a whole clan, such as the Dudley Boys, the brutality can spiral out of control.

One of the newer clans to appear on the Oklahoma wrestling scene is the Sexy Camachos. Angel Camacho and his cousin Roberto have been making waves through IZW and MSWA. Whether in singles competition or tagging together, the Sexy Camachos have made it very clear that they are a force to be contended with.

In MSWA, one of the major obstacles the Sexy Camachos have faced is the up-and-coming faction of the Greenhorns. Spike, Kenny and Vinnie entered MSWA at the end of 2013, but have shown determination and desire that would put many veterans to shame. And, like the Camachos, they strive to make their mark, whether in singles or tag team competition.

On April 6, MSWA Commissioner Erica ordered a main event to determine the #1 contender to the MSWA Mid-South Title held by Damon Windsor. That match would be a Triple Threat Match involving Angel Camacho, Spike and MSWA Oklahoma and IZW Champion Double D. Obviously this would be a tremendous opportunity for everyone involved, but when time for the match came around, it seemed as if Camacho did not want to be involved. He spent much of the beginning of the match on the outside, swearing he was not ready and that he needed to stretch. D and Spike briefly aligned to chase Camacho, who was quickly winded by all the running and that allowed the fan favourites to treat Camacho as a pinball, bouncing him back and forth between them. That was followed by a series of chops from one combatant to another in a circle, first one direction and then another. Camacho appeared to come out on the wrong end of all these exchanges and for a time wanted nothing to do with the action, but after resting a bit and allowing D and Spike to work each other over, Camacho came back in with a vengeance.

As the match neared its conclusion, Spike was knocked off the corner ropes to the floor. That brought Vinnie out to check on his partner while D and Camacho continued the battle in the ring. It appeared that D was going to capitalise as he made his way to the top rope and prepared to connect with his cross-body finisher, but then Vinnie, shimmied up on to the ring apron and pushed D off as the referee was checking on Camacho. Angel then hit a Samoan Drop and the 3-count was made.

The assembled MSWA fans looked amazed as Vinnie stood in the ring with Angel. But it should not come as any surprise as Vinnie had revealed himself to also be a Camacho cousin in IZW. Now, with three Camacho family members on the roster, MSWA has even more to be wary of than before.
