The dark side of Timmy J emerges

The dark side of Timmy J emerges

Posted: Oct 11th 2005 By: oklastaff

Oklahoma wrestler Timmy J began his career approximately a year and a half ago. Coming from a wrestling family (one uncle is former Oklahoma Champion Bernard Funk, another is former WWEmpire owner Flamon Raymon), Timmy hoped to establish a name for himself in the business. Training with SRPW, Timmy emerged as a very popular figure in SRPW, feuding with his uncle as well as the rest of the New Texas Outlaws. He also had issues with X-Cal (then known as Chris Gazaway and a member of the Fraternity of Sin), resulting in a heated feud that was voted Feud of the year for SRPW in 2004. That feud ended on February 11, 2005, when Timmy defeated Gazaway in a respect match. Gazaway went back to using the X-Cal name and joined with Cade Sydal to form the 918 Boyz.

X-Cal was out of action by Paul Linam and Timmy & Cade began to focus on tag team wrestling, although Timmy did win the SRPW Hardcore Title at the Tulsa Fun Fair that year and held it for 1 week, before losing it to Beau Dalton in Enid. In May, Timmy & Cade defeated Bernard Funk & Renegade to capture the vacant SRPW Tag Team Titles. They would hold those titles for a little over 2 months before dropping them to the Phantasy XXXpress.

For all this time, Timmy maintained a positive relationship with the fans. But as the summer ended, things began to darken. He lost a "King of Hardcore" match to Beau Dalton, eliminating his last chance to regain the SRPW Hardcore Title. He made some appearances for NWA-U, but never was able to gain much success in his brief stint there before they shut down. And he began to appear with TPW, showing a much meaner streak. He suffered 2 losses to Justin Lee and appeared to be more and more frustrated. This frustration apparently carried over to his tag team with Cade Sydal, as the 918 Boyz began to demonstrate a severe lack of communication. Title opportunities were blown. Phone calls were not being returned. Matches were being lost. But through it all, Timmy seemed to be holding his cool, showing that he was willing to try and keep going.

All that came to an end in SRPW on oct 7, when Timmy & Cade took on New Dynasty members Mitch Carter & Jack Legacy. After accidentaly clotheslining his partner earlier in the match, Timmy then refused to make the tag towards the end, instead dropping down off the ring apron and announcing to the arena that the 918 Boyz were dead and he was walking out of SRPW. The next night, he attacked Justin Lee in their scheduled match in TPW, brutally beating him and gaining his first win for that company.

Timmy was offered the opportunity to use this forum to explain his actions the past couple of days and he had this to say: "Why did I leave? Why did I walk out on Cade Sydal? Why am I in TPW?!? You want answers, I?ll give you answers!!!

I left because it was time. My journey continues. I?ve wrestled the best in SRPW, now it?s time to continue and do what I do. Ever since 2002 I?ve been hearing about a guy name Justin Lee. "The Future" "Mr. Southern States Super 8" "Broken Arrow Bad Boy" "ICF" I DONT GIVE A DAMN!!! They say he?s the best. Well I want to beat the best. I want to be the best and that?s why I?m in TPW. I want to make Justin Lee?s life a living hell!!!!

And my reason for walking out on Cade Sydal? He was in my way. He was holding me down. He caused me to lose to Sonny C!!!. He caused us to lose the tag titles. CM......... I hate Cade Sydal, and it?s no secret, I wanted X-Cal to be (medically) released, but instead I got Cade as partner, and X-Cal got screwed. Now let?s see how Cade does without me. 918 BOYZ are dead!"
