Charlie Haas tops list of Oklahoma talent in PWI 500
Posted: Sep 3rd 2005 By: oklastaff
Edmond, OK native Charlie Haas was ranked #68 in the recent PWI 500, which is widely recognised as the most accurate ranking of professional wrestlers worldwide. Haas, who was released earlier this year by the WWE, competed for NWA-Universal on 2 shows in August, defeating Slam Shady in both events.
Former Oklahoma native Brent Albright, currently in Ohio Valley Wrestling, moved up the ranks to #82. Albright was ranked #176 last year. Albright, under the name Vinnie Valentino, held the OCW Oklahoma Title and the SRPW Title while wrestling in Oklahoma.
Tahlequah native Tim WarCloud, 1/2 of the current NWA North American Tag Team Champions Tribal Force, was ranked #303 on the list. WarCloud is a regular competitor for NWA-Universal. Also in NWA-U is New York native Scotty Charisma, who was given slot #341. Charisma also competed for NWA-Universal, although there was a report on a recent edition of NWA Intense TV indicating that he may have quit the company due to a falling out between himself and his tag team partner, current NWA Oklahoma Champion John O'Malley.
And although they are not Oklahoma natives, the current NWA World Tag Team Champions, The Naturals, have competed on many NWA-U events, most recently co-winnning the first Chris Candido Cup in Tahlequah. Chase Stevens was ranked #90 and his partner Andy Douglas came in at #96.
Oklafan congratulates all the wrestlers who were listed in the PWI 500 this year and wishes them further success.
