Xavior To Face Morgan For Oklahoma Title
Posted: Sep 11th 2010 By: CMBurnham
For 3 years, Xavior has competed for MSWA. He made his debut September 1st, 2007, losing to Eric Rose. But he battled back from there to become one of the most hated competitors the federation has ever seen. He's captured titles in GPCW and SWCW and seems on the verge of winning the IZW Tag Team Championship. But in MSWA, he remains without an entry in their title histories. Given that situation, Xavior decided to take matters into his own hands. With the belief that possession is 9/10 of the law, Xavior has crowned himself MSWA Oklahoma Champion by taking the belt from Kevin Morgan.
Morgan defended the title against Xavior on August 8 and defeated his sometime-partner with a scoop powerslam, but there was some controversy in the match as there was a very close count and it almost appeared that Xavior kicked out before the 3 count was finished. Feeling himself come that close to a title victory, Xavior's frustration overwhelmed him and he attacked Morgan, slamming the Oklahoma Title belt into his head and cutting him open. Xavior then took the title belt and left. Morgan was very wobbly afterwards. He tried to make it to the back under his own power, but collapsed near the ring entrance and had to be assisted the rest of the way.
One week later, Morgan and Xavior both chose partners to further their issue with each other. Xavior chose gun-for-hire Bud Barnes while Morgan went to the owner of MSWA, Bad Boy. The match was so out of control that referee Mark Wilson had no choice but to rule it a No-Contest. Still, Xavior left with the title belt and Morgan remained frustrated that he couldn't reclaim his rightful possession.
This past Sunday, Xavior faced SWCW Champion Tyson Jaymes. Xavior immediately began to brag to the crowd that he was a better champion than Tyson and went on to prove it in the ring, confidently defeating Jaymes with a Flatliner. Xavior's confidence continued to increase as he gained a victory over one champion, but it wasn't the one he wanted to prove he could beat. Nonetheless, Xavior continued to berate Jaymes after the match, calling him "a pathetic excuse" for a champion.
The main event that night saw Kevin Morgan face Max McGuirk. Xavior could not resist the opportunity to once more rub it in the face of Morgan that he had the belt, so he came out and displayed his hardware during the match. Morgan had been in control of McGuirk until that point, but this distraction allowed McGuirk to recover. He then connected with an Enziguri to Morgan's head, laying him out. McGuirk tried to go for a 450 Splash, but Morgan rolled out of the way. Morgan then scooped McGuirk up and gave him a powerslam for the win. With his current opponent removed, Morgan could focus on the man he wanted to face. He went and held the ropes open for Xavior to enter and for a moment, it appeared that Xavior might actually answer the challenge. But as usual, Xavior backed off and retreated, waiting for a better moment to confront the true MSWA Oklahoma Champion.
That "better moment" is rapidly approaching as MSWA ring announcer Milton Winkelman announced that one of the matches signed for this Sunday is a one-on-one confrontation between Kevin Morgan and Xavior for the Oklahoma Title. Morgan would love nothing better than to get his hands on Xavior and regain his belt. Xavior would love to get a win and enter the record books officially as the champion. Both men will be bring everything they have this Sunday and when the smoke clears, the Oklahoma Title will no longer be disputed.
