American Dream Tour Takes Place In July In Florida

The American Dream Dusty Rhodes returns to his roots with a month-long tour dubbed The American Dream Tour in Florida.

The tour includes five stops where Rhodes will meet-n-greet fans during autograph sessions before Florida Championship Wrestling shows.

The tour will also feature a special in ring return as The Dream will team with his WWE superstar sons Goldust and Cody Rhodes on July 9 in Kissimmee.

Dusty Rhodes became a household name during the 1970s and 80s competing for the original Florida Championship Wrestling under WWE Hall of Famer Eddie Graham and legendary voice Gordon Solie, another WWE Hall of Famer.

Rhodes also starred in the AWA, NWA, WCW and WWF, capturing multiple titles and hundreds of thousands of fans worldwide.

Who could forget the turn seen round the world when Rhodes became The American Dream in Florida, battling the villain Pak Song with manager Playboy Gary Hart. Like its motto, The American Dream represented all races, creeds and colors, bringing unity among people in the Sunshine State.

Funky Like A Monkey, Bull of the Woods, The Midnight Rider, Hard Times, The Million Dollar Smile, The Bionic Elbow, if you will, are part of the Rhodes vernacular. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007.

``The state of Florida is so rich in wrestling history,'' Rhodes said in a press release. ``Having the opportunity to do this tour and see some old friends all throughout the Sunshine State is an honor I couldn't pass up.''

? Dusty Rhodes will be available before each show to sign autographs for fans in attendance. Free Dusty Rhodes bobbleheads will be available to Gold Circle ticket holders.

The card each night will feature eight matches with appearances by stars of WWE's NXT, the Florida champ and Florida tag team champs. There will be a Divas Bikini Contest showcasing the beautiful FCW divas.

Tickets range from $12 to $30 and are available at Buddy's Home Furnishings in various tour stop cities. Tickets are also available at FCWWrestling.com .

? For nearly half a century, Florida Championship Wrestling has been the Sunshine State's primary wrestling promotion. Now officially sanctioned and recently reorganized by WWE, FCW has also become the training ground for future WWE superstars.

Under the tutelage and leadership of Florida wrestling legend Steve Keirn, FCW's goal for the fans is simple: To give them a glimpse at the potential superstars of tomorrow, while providing exciting ring action that leaves the entire family with smiles on their faces.

The key objective within FCW is to train the next generation of WWE superstars. FCW takes enormous pride in its live events throughout Florida. The company also has tryouts at its Tampa location, showcasing young men and women interested in a career as a sports entertainer.

Current WWE superstars from FCW include WWE champ Sheamus, Unified tag champs The Hart Dynasty, Intercontinental champ Kofi Kingston, WWE Divas champ Alicia Fox, Jack Swagger, Drew McIntyre, Dolph Ziggler, Ted DiBiase, Jr., Primo Colon, Ezekiel Jackson, Evan Bourne, Tiffany, Trent Berretta, Caylen Croft, Savannah, Yoshi-Tatsu, The Bella Twins and more.
