Busy Times For Bad Boy

Busy Times For Bad Boy

Posted: Jun 4th 2010 By: CMBurnham

MSWA owner Bad Boy has had his hands full recently and found himself in a similar situation this past weekend.

Since the apparent resignation of Outlaw as MSWA commissioner, Bad Boy has stepped up to try and control the seemingly uncontrollable situations that have surfaced in the Midwest City-based federation. This past weekend featured three times that Bad Boy had to come and interject himself into the procedings in the hopes of keeping things reasonable.

Bad Boy's initial appearance occurred when Big Daddy Dominator arrived for his scheduled Lumberjack Strap Match against MSWA Oklahoma Champion Kevin Morgan. Two weeks previously, Morgan had been present, but Dominator had been absent. This week, it was the opposite situation and Dominator was announced as the winner of the match by forfeit, much as Morgan had been the previous show. Bad Boy arrived and demanded to know why Dominator hadn't been there before and he simply said that he had "travel difficulty". Bad Boy promised the fans that on June 13, the Lumberjack Strap Match would happen. No more excuses would be tolerated. He also didn't give Dominator an easy afternoon off, forcing him to face Austin Tacious. Despite competing with a hernia, Tacious held his own against the much larger opponent. Dominator obviously didn't have confidence in his ability and tried to resort to using a foreign object, but referee Crazy Charlie saw this happen and signalled for the bell, giving the win to the pink-clad competitor.

One of the other main issues that Bad Boy has been trying to deal with is the shenanigans of Impact, Inc. MSWA Mid-South Champion Johnny Z, Bernie D & Jermaine Johnson, together with their security cadre, have wreaked havoc since reentering MSWA over a year ago. Bad Boy might have thought he had a bit of a break this time since Johnny & Jermaine weren't going to be at the show, but Bernie D arrived in full diva mode, bragging about his alleged "undefeated" streak and talking about how he couldn't stand the fans. Jesse White stepped up to defend MSWA from the ramblings of the "Hardcore Hebrew" and apparently Bad Boy could sense trouble as he appointed himself special referee. Without his entourage, Bernie D found himself unable to pull out the victory and the rookie sensation scored another important win over a veteran competitor.

Both of these situations had been long-standing constant thorns in Bad Boy's side, but he couldn't have forseen the arrival of Star, together with NWA-OK Texoma Champion Cody Jones. While Jones was content to take on anyone and show off his second-generation skills, Star again targeted NWA-OK Oklahoma Women's Champion La Reina de Corazones. La Reina had been invited to the ring to talk about her recent experiences, but Star quickly interrupted, declaring herself the best women's wrestler present. The two briefly flailed at each other like high school rivals before security seperated them. And once again, Bad Boy had to ride to the rescue. He announced that the girls would be in the main event, facing each other. This might have been the first time ever that an Oklahoma indy card was main-evented by a women's match and they were not going to bypass the opportunity to show off their skills. Both girls arrived determined to prove their status. Cody Jones, who came off of a strong win against Tyson Jaymes, could not leave well enough alone and eventually had to stick his nose into the action, prompting Crazy Charlie to call for a DQ. Dustin Daniels quickly jumped in to defend his associate and the Texas duo decided to beat a hasty retreat before things got any worse for them.

With situations like this, it's amazing that Bad Boy still finds time to compete. And with unhappy competitors backstage (such as Bud Barnes and The New Age Syndicate, none of whom had opponents this show), the constant swarm of egos makes the job all the harder. MSWA faces some daunting times in the near future and Bad Boy will need all his focus to keep the federation from being overwhelmed.
