Championships Revolve Around New Stars In Oklahoma

Posted: Feb 18th 2010 By: CMBurnham

Bobby Star and Chris Chaos have worked to establish themselves as a top tag team in the area while Star had also strived to make his presence in the X Division known. That work, combined with some underhanded tactics, paid off as they now have championship gold for themselves and fellow newcomer Richie Adams.

The Stars of Chaos made an unannounced appearance during the 4-way elimination match for the vacant TAP Adrenaline title Friday. After Brandon Walker and Dexter Hardaway had been eliminated and battled each other to the back, Star and Chaos came out to watch the final two men, Adams and Steven Sterling. While Chaos distracted the referee, Star attacked Sterling in the ring allowing Adams to pick up the win and gain his first championship. Adams then joined in a 3-on-1 attack on Sterling after the match until Sam Stackhouse came to Sterling?s rescue.
That favour would be repaid later in the show after Stackhouse had defeated newcomer John Epperson. Star, Chaos and Adams arrived and began another vicious 3-on-1 attack. This prompted Sterling to bring a chair to the ring and clear the offenders out Sterling then took the microphone and said that next month, he and Stackhouse would find a partner and challenged them to a 3-on-3 match. None of the opposing side officially responded, but it seems likely that the match will happen in March at the next TAP event.

The next night at the ComPro event, more championship shenanigans would follow. Bobby Star had defeated Tyson Jaymes to become the #1 contender to the ComPro Oklahoma X Division Title. But Star had been absent for the next 3 months and in that time, the Masked Martyr had made life for champion The Canadian Luchadore very difficult. As a result, the X Division Title was put on the line in a Triple Threat Match at last week?s Night of Champions event. Luchie was able to retain the title in part because Star poked in the eye during the match and gave his own partner a flip piledriver, thinking he was the Luchadore. The champion even counted three when Star pinned Chaos before then attacking him as he celebrated his ?victory?. Star wanted revenge and was able to get ComPro owner Mike Two to sign him to a non-title match this past Saturday. But when that match began, Star refused to enter the ring and appeared to be counted out before ever competing in the match. Star then took the microphone and said that he deserved another title match. Luchadore pointed out that he had pinned Star the previous week, but went on to say that he was a fighting champion and agreed to defend the belt. It was a choice he would regret. Although he controlled most of the match, Luchie?s manager, Sensei Bolo, wasn?t present to help counter the interference of Chris Chaos. All it took was a simple moment when Chaos jumped into the ring. The Luchadore went over and threw him out, but that little distraction was enough to allow Star to sneak up behind and schoolboy Luchie with a huge handful of tights and become the new Oklahoma X Division Champion.

The celebration would continue later when Chris Chaos took on the Canadian Red Devil. CRD had been on a huge losing streak and was trying to regain his footing in the company. Those hopes were dashed during this match because once again, the numbers advantage worked to Chaos? favour. At one point, the Devil had Chaos locked in a Fujiwara armbar and Chaos tapped out to the pain, but the referee was busy dealing with Star who had tried to jump in the ring. The Devil quickly locked in another submission hold, but Chaos grabbed the ropes. As the referee checked on Chaos to make sure he could continue, Star jumped in the ring, grabbed the Devil and hit a flip piledriver. He then slithered out and Chaos connected with the 666 Driver and stole another victory for the night.

Chaos and Star began another beatdown until the Luchadore returned and helped run off the sneaky duo. But it?s obvious that they plan to continue this tactic until someone stands up to them. Rumour has it that New Canada plans to reform and counter the efforts of this dastardly duo.

Interestingly, Chaos and Star were not so lucky in their efforts at SWCW on Sunday, where Chaos lost to Rage Logan and Star was defeated by Shane Sanchez
