Legendary wrestler and Bay Area resident Jack Brisco has died.
He passed away Monday morning due to complications from open-heart surgery, according to multiple reports
Brisco was inducted in the wrestling hall of Fame in 2005, and is widely considered a legend of the sport.
Brisco made his home here in the Bay Area in Odessa. He and his brother Jerry were a famous wrestling duo that ruled the wrestling rings in the 70s and 80s.
Jerry eventually became an assistant wrestling coach at Sickles High School, and they own and operated the Brisco Brothers auto body shop in Tampa.
Jack Brisco was also considered part of a long tradition and history of wrestling in the Bay Area that produced Hulk Hogan, among many others. That tradition led the Tampa area to be nicknamed "Wrestletown, U.S.A."
