TAMPA - Local wrestling legend Jack Brisco has died at age 68.

Dave Meltzer of [url=http://www.wrestlingobserver.com}www.wrestlingobserver.com[/url] reports that Brisco died this morning after suffering several complications from open heart surgery over the past week.

Brisco was born in Oklahoma in 1941, but moved to Tampa during his professional career.

Brisco was an NCAA wrestling champion at Oklahoma State, before joining the professional ranks. His accolades as a pro include two National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) heavyweight championships and several NWA Florida tag team titles, which he won with his brother Gerald.

The two siblings, along with their brother Bill, opened the Brisco Bros. Body Shop in Tampa over 30 years ago.

Jack and Gerald Brisco were inducted into the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Hall of Fame in March 2008, the night before WrestleMania XXIV in Orlando.
