Just as promised, it was, indeed, a celebration ... a two-day celebration of life! A life that may have only lived 49 years, but a lot of living was done in that short amount of time.

The funeral service the day before was just as special. Many of the greats in wrestling past, present, and future were there. There were such luminaries as "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, Terry Taylor, Big Van Vader, Stan Hansen, Good Ol' J.R. (Jim Ross), as well as several Colorado Independent Wrestlers and many from here in Asylum Championship Wrestling. Great stories were told about the mischievous Steve Williams and all the fun they had with "Dr. Death," especially his powerful influence on them to turn to Jesus Christ for support and guidance. It was a very moving and inspirational service. One that will not be forgotten.

But the celebration didn't end there. We continued to celebrate his life the next night. There were three different video packages that were so touching and heart-wrenching. It forced even the strongest of men to cry just a little. But each and everyone of us gave it our all. No matter what our position was, we gave it our all because that night was for "Doc!"

And Vader came to show his support and love for his friend. He regaled us with some stories of his involvement with "Dr. Death" in Japan. He asked all of us, "WHAT TIME IS IT?" He said it wasn't "VADER TIME!" That it was actually '"DR. DEATH" TIME!' The entire crowd complied with the big 6'4'', 375 lbs. Mastodon, got up, and shouted that it was, indeed, '"DR. DEATH" TIME!'

Vader even requested that all wrestlers on the ACW roster come back out once again and compete in a 20-man, over-the-top-rope, Battle Royale in "Doc's" honor. And when Vader asks you to do something you do it!

In the end, it was a momentous and special night that we all feel "Doc" would be proud of.
