King caught in the web

WWE announcer Jerry 'The King' Lawler has fallen victim to cyber squatters ? forcing him to change his website address.
The Raw commentator forgot to renew kinglawler.com, a domain he has run for years, and someone else sneaked in and purchased it.
Jerry is now directing all his fans to a new site, kingjerrylawler.com
He told SunSport: "When I ran for Mayor of Memphis earlier this year I took kinglawler.com down for a while, as I was trying to separate my wrestling persona from the guy running for Mayor.
"I have very limited knowledge of the Internet and somehow, in the meantime, somebody else bought the name.
"It's like armed robbery. I can't believe how many people there are out there trying to take advantage of others using the Internet.
"I was told that I could take them to court and probably get it back by showing the only reason they bought it was to try and re-sell it back to me.
"But that takes more time than it's worth and in the meantime you don't have a website.
"So we decided to just go ahead with kingjerrylawler.com."
King added: "It's not a compliment, but I guess if they felt my name wasn't a valuable commodity then they wouldn't have tried to hold me up for it."
Jerry is using this opportunity to revitalise the site ? promising a better shop and more of his artwork.
He also revealed a new WWE comic is in the pipeline. He said: "They are starting up a comic book with Titan Comics in the UK.
"It's going to feature all the wrestlers and I'm going to do some of the covers.
"There were Undertaker and Ultimate Warrior comics years ago, but they weren't done under the control of WWE. They were licensed products that didn't do very well.
"But this has a really good chance of succeeding."
A spokesman for technology support service Geek Squad said: "Preventing cybersquatting on your website domain is simple. You just need to remember to renew your subscription.
"Set it up to auto-renew so you can't forget or mark the date in your calendar. Most hosts will send reminders to you via email anyway.
"Otherwise it can be a costly and lengthy process trying to get the name back under your ownership."
