Caz Chalks Up Victories Over Rail Through Underhanded Methods

Caz Chalks Up Victories Over Rail Through Underhanded Methods

Posted: Oct 28th 2009 By: CMBurnham

On the surface, MSWA newcomer Caz is simply an angry man.

He's been angry since his debut, when he continually challenged SWCW Champion Kevin Morgan to matches, only to suffer defeat after defeat. After opening his career that way, the logical conclusion would be to take a step back and challenge someone more your size. Instead, Caz chose to target 3rd Rail.

It wasn't exactly his choice, Rail & Caz were randomly paired in the tournament for the MSWA Mid-South Tag Team Titles. And, honestly, not many people gave them a chance against the team of Tyson Jaymes and then-SWCW Tag Team Champion Bud Barnes. Barnes had been a tag team champion for months and Jaymes was Rail's former tag team partner. Rail even seemed confused in that match about who to tag with as the crowd loudly chanted "3-on-1!". But Caz brought a surprise victory to the team, then took all the glory for himself when the match was over.

Things didn't go quite so well in the semi-finals for the titles, as they were defeated by T. M. S. And, in what should have come as a surprise to no one, Caz blamed that loss on 3rd Rail. So, two days later, Rail & Caz were set for a match and Rail came out to say a few things to his former partner. He explained that there were a few things you didn't do. You didn't tug on Superman's cape,. you didn't pull the mask of the Lone Ranger and you didn't piss off 3rd Rail. When Caz came out, Rail tried to give Caz the opportunity to fix his mistake and apologise. Caz had none of that and slapped Rail. Twice! He then spent the rest of the match trying to avoid any contact with Rail and even gained a win by Countout over him when the referee was counting both men out of the ring and Caz slipped in before the 10-count finished.

Last Friday, Caz & 3rd Rail both headed to the ring to once again settle the score between them. Despite Caz's bragadocious nature, it seems apparant that he lacks the ability to defeat Rail cleanly. Thus the countout victory. Although he entered the match and went full force (like always) against Rail, a plan was brewing even before the match began. After suffering a beating from "The Monster"., Caz went and grabbed a pole he had brought to the ring with him. When he brought it into the ring, referee Bill Decker assumed he was going to use it engaged in a brief tug-of-war with Caz over the pole. Finally wrestling it from his grip, Decker went to put the pole out of the ring on the other side. This allowed Caz to grab a chair he had also brought to the ring and bring it into the ring. Caz then drew Rail's attention, hit the chair on the mat, threw the chair to Rail and collapsed on the ring. With his back turned, Decker saw nothing, but heard an impact by the chair and when he turned around, the "evidence" was in front of him. Making the only logical decision he could, Decker concluded that Rail had used the chair he was holding against Caz and called for the DQ. Once again, Caz had gained a victory over 3rd Rail. And while it might not have been a pinfall or submission, it still read as a win in the record books and served to further infuriate the mammoth competitor.

Much of Rail's lack of recent success in MSWA can probably be tied to his preoccupation with the SWCW Title and the "Deal or No Deal" matches he's been having to compete in. One day after losing to Caz, Rail reformed The South Side Soul Assassins and defeated The Good Ol' Boys for the SWCW Tag Team Titles. But, as had been the case in every other title victory he landed, Rail was told he could either keep that title or relenquish it and move one step closer to receiving an SWCW Title shot. Rail threw down the tag team belts and remained focused on regaining the SWCW Title for the 4th time.
