Advantage Or Disadvantage, X-Rated "Handicapped" In Hardcore Bouts

Advantage Or Disadvantage, X-Rated "Handicapped" In Hardcore Bouts

Posted: Aug 24th 2009 By: CMBurnham

Try as they might, X-Rated just don't seem to be able to prove that they're able to match wits with much of anyone. Since turning their backs on the fans, the Sanchez brothers have tried to show that not only are they hardcore, but they're also capable of outwitting whatever opponents they're faced with. Their recent targets have been "Oklahoma Hardcore Legend" Kareem Sadat and SWCW Hardcore Champion Maniac Mike, two men who began as enemies, but seem to have set that aside since they found a common bond against X-Rated.

At the second annual Scars & Stripes event, Shane Sanchez received a shot at the SWCW Hardcore Title against Manaic Mike. But Kareem Sadat, who had been appointed the commissioner for the night due to Miss Sheila's unexpected absence, had a surprise. He came out and reminded them that they couldn't touch him and in return, he couldn't do anything to them. He then introduced them to Karl the Collector, whose specific job was to be handcuffed to Kevin James Sanchez and make sure that he didn't interfere. Kevin pulled every trick in the book to try and get out of the cuffs, but none of it paid off and Mike retained his Hardcore Title. After the match was over, Karl handcuffed Kevin to the cornerpost and then Sadat made his next surprise announcement. He said that on August 16, there would be a Hardcore Handicap Match pitting X-Rated against himself, Karl the Collector and Maniac Mike. Kevin said that was unfair and he wanted to even the odds, even proposing that SWCW ring announcer Milton Winkleman be added to their team. Sadat said they could have whoever they wanted, even suggesting that they could pull someone out of the audience, but it would be Hardcore rules and might even involve tables, ladders and chairs. Kevin told the audience that he wouldn't be there, but they all figured the match would happen.

Well, the match DID happen, although not the way it was advertised. In in the intervening 2 weeks, Sadat was involved in an automobile accident and his doctor refused to clear him for in-ring competition. That didn't prevent him from being allowed to referee and that was his job last Sunday. With him out of the equation, fans still thought they would see a Hardcore tag team match, but that idea seemed to be squashed when Karl the Collector no-showed the event. That left Mike in a Handicap situation against X-Rated and it wasn't the side of the Handicap he was expecting. But Mike had no problems taking both men on and he calmly made his way to the ring, following X-Rated's entrance which involved Kevin James Sanchez bringing a toy monkey with him wrapped around his neck. Kareem Sadat promised he would call the match right down the middle and he fulfilled that pronouncement, even though it meant that Maniac Mike suffered constant two-on-one attacks. But Sadat wasn't the only friend Mike had, as from the back Bobby Starr made his way to the ring. Sadat stopped the match and officially made it into a tag team match, but still with Hardcore rules and that meant all kinds of things began to happen. Trash cans were used, Ladders were used. Kevin James Sanchez even attempted to stuff his stuffed monkey down the throat of Bobby Starr. But in the end, the surprise team of Mike & Bobby scored the win over the Sanchez brothers, who in turn blamed their loss on Sadat.

All 5 of these men are certainly proficient in the Hardcore division, with all but Bobby being multiple time Hardcore Champions. Maniac Mike will have his work cut out for him in holding on to that title, but for 3 months, that's exactly what he's done. As for the Sanchezes, it's almost impossible to guess what they will do next. No matter what it is, it seems that they're stuck with a permanent handicap...in their head.
