Windsor Loses Everything At Scars And Stripes II

Windsor Loses Everything At Scars And Stripes II

Posted: Aug 6th 2009 By: CMBurnham

In what seems like a recurring nightmare for SWCW, the control of their company was once again on the line this year at Scars & Stripes 2. Last year saw SWCW Commissioner Miss Sheila form a group to counter that of Kareem Sadat. This year, the threat from inside the comany came from Nemesis. But by the time this Supercard was over, one SWCW member had joined Nemesis, one member was gone from the company and 3 different title changes happened all while control of the company hung in the balance.

Miss Sheila strode to the ring and told the assembled crowd that, due to an emergency, she was not going to be able to oversee the action, so she named Kareem Sadat as the temporary commish (a position he has been filling repeatedly in her absence). Kareem told the crowd that he was OK with this decision and was ready to put his foot down if needed. This announcement brought out Nemesis: Damon Windsor and SWCW Tag Team Champions Rage Logan & Damien Morte. The proclaimed that, by the end of the show, they would be in control and the first thing they planned to do was to fire the three people standing in the ring with them: Miss Sheila, Kareem Sadat and SWCW Co-Ring Announer Milton Winkelman. Sadat said he wasn't worried because he had 3 people to counter them, but if his career was going to be put on the line, they needed to put somethings up as well. He told Rage & Morte to bring their tag team titles, because they would be on the line in the upcoming 6-man tag team match. And he said that since Windsor didn't have a title, he would have to put his career on the line. Rage accepted and said that "Violence will rise again!" as they left to prepare.

That exchange was just step one on the road to the main event. Step two occurred after the SWCW Cruiserweight Title match between champion Sage and challenger Crisstopher Crow. Crow, who had reformed Nemesis in IZW the night before, became a beneficiary of an attack by the assembled team, as they concentrated on the Cruiserweight champion. To the surprise of many, Xavior came to Sage's rescue and the pair stood back-to-back to fend off the other attackers. But that comraderie didn't last long as Xavior turned to face Sage, then tore off his signature Punisher-skull T-shirt to reveal a Nemesis shirt. With a 4th member now on their side, a gang attack began on Sage until the Good Ol' Boys and AWFUL & SWCW Champon Kevin Morgan came to the rescue. Rage grabbed the microphone and said that he was deciding to up the ante. He wanted to 6-man tag changed to an 8-man Elimination match and he wanted both Morgan's SWCW Heavyweight & Sage's Cruiserweight Titles on the line. Morgan accepted on behalf of what he called "Team SWCW" and the main event seemed set in stone. But there was one more surprise to be revealed.

After intermission, Kevin Morgan came out and said that he didn't want to wait until the main event. He wanted to get this issue over with right then. Once again, Nemesis bolted to the ring and another 4-on-1 attack began, but this time, there was a goal in mind. 2 months earlier, Damon Windsor had been awarded the Guaranteed contract that Damien Morte had won in the Ladder Battle Royal in exchange for joining Nemesis. With Morgan incapacitated due to Windsor using brass knucks, Windsor demanded a referee and, after much searching, Rob Justice was finally rushed to the ring. Windsor cashed in the contract and covered the prone champion for the 3-count. For the second time, Damon Windsor was SWCW Champion and Nemesis now held the top 2 titles in the federation. All that was left was the Cruiserweight Title and total control of the company.

When time came for the main event, the anticipation was thick in the atmosphere of the Underground Arena. Nemesis calmly strode to the ring, championships in hand and cockily stood together, awaiting their opponents. Milton Winkelman announced Kevin Morgan's name, but Morgan never came to the ring. The Good Ol' Boys arrived, as did Cruiserweight Champion Sage and Lady Starwind. It looked like Team SWCW would start a man down in the elimination process, but finally the former champion stumbled to the ring to join his compatriots. Both sides knew everything was on the line and were prepared to do whatever it took to win this Winner-Take-All/No DQ match.

The first elimination was Moonshine, who was the victim of all the finishers from Nemesis before all 4 members dogpiled him for the win. Then, after Damon Windsor gave Bud Barnes an RKO, Xavior eliminated the second member of the Good OI' Boys. That put Team SWCW at a 4-2 disadvantage. Sage rallied back by taking out Xavior, but was eliminated next by Damien Morte following a 2nd rope neckbreaker. Faced with a 3-on-1 situation, things looked grim for Kevin Morgan, who was already injured headed into this match. But the big man knew that the fate of the company rested on his broad shoulders and he rose to the task.

Morgan eliminated Damien Morte after a release powerbomb, then put out Rage Logan following a spinebuster. Now, it was down to 1 man from each side: Kevin Morgan and Damon Windsor. A repeat of the title match earlier in the card, only this time Morgan was not being jumped by 4 men unexpectedly. And even though he had fought the last 10 minutes with no one to tag out to, Morgan was not willing to let his fatigue and injury prevent him from defending the company. He mustered every ounce of energy in his body and caught Windsor with a mighty powerslam, pinning the champion and ending the match. As a result, Morgan regained the SWCW Heavyweight Title, the Good Ol' Boys were once again SWCW Tag Team Champions and Damon Windsor found himself fired from the company.

But the surprises weren't over as Kareem Sadat appeared with Windsor's bag and handed it to him. Then, the locker room emptied and gathered in the ring to say their goodbyes to Windsor and he made one last walk up the rampway, saluting the fans while "Superstar" by Saliva played. And while it was a fitting farewell for "The Playboy", Rage Logan told the assembled SWCW talent that the issue between them and Nemesis wasn't over. Back down to 3 members, Logan needs to plan hard for the upcoming shows and prove that, while Nemesis may not be in total control of the company, they are still the greatest threat to SWCW.
